Transformers Prime Series 1 Part 2 [DVD]: Amazon.co.uk: Film & TV Transformers Prime series 1 is finally being released in the UK (Partly) with Series 1 part 2, containing Episodes 6-10 of Season 1, continuing from the Darkness Rising Mini-series available form purchase in the UK on DVD. These episodes will also be released on DVD, and there is no word yet on a Blu-Ray release. Regardless, this justifies why there hasn't been a full Season/series release for Prime in the UK as of yet, and hopefully will bring about a subsequent Blu-ray release. Hey, it's something
Well, it seems official, and if you're only paying for 5 half an hour episodes, £8 seems like a fair price. I'm guessing the Darkness Rising DD is priced higher since it's linked the 5 episodes into feature length, whereas these are individual episodes. We'll just have to wait and see, won't we?
Is only 5 episodes, I should bloody hope 8 quid is the right price Seriously, why does the UK keep getting these series broken up into several dvds that we see maybe one or two of but then the final ones never arrive. I get it makes them cheap enough to be an impulse buy for kids but its annoying the UK doesn't get full season dvd sets
You're welcome! And yes caitlindevi, it is annoying that we get it split up, and I personally will probably import the Blu-ray from the US if I have a multi-regional drive, because the show honestly deserves better than little chunks of it being released to satisfy "Impulse buying". Plus, what if the rest never get released? Imagine how upset a kid would be to buy this DVD, patiently waiting for the rest of it, and have it never hit market!
Can't tell you how many times this has happened here in Ireland with Kids shows, Sonic X, TMNT '03, TF Armada and Beyblade all got broken down and barely made it past Volume 4 or 5!!!
All it does is make me not bother buying them. In this day and age when an entire series of something can be easily fitted on a few discs, splitting a series release up into smaller chunks pisses me off so much. It's such a scumbag way of charging people far more for a series than it would cost in a full series boxset. No wonder people just download the episodes when the alternative is buy a series in pieces and then the remainder of episodes never make release anyway. But then we never got full release of Beast Wars here (I think even the VHS releases skipped an episode) so I've never had much faith in TF DVD releases. I had hoped the BayFormers movies might've prompted such a thing but even that thundering media train of publicity and supposed growing of the brand didn't come up with the goods. The best we got back at that time were full series boxsets of Beast Machines, which just makes it even more annoying. That various countries still don't have full releases of episodes for all the past TF series just boggles my mind.
