The head tucks away completely into his back. The figure has no kibble at all

Dare I say that the robot form is better than the T-rex mode.

    Good work Hasbro...

Every single Grimlock figure has more back kibble than this one, even the Masterpiece. Well except for classics deluxe Grimlock, but that one sucks ass so who cares really.

I must have this figure! Grimlock is one of my favorite characters, and I never got to own a toy of him as a kid, so the new FOC figure immediately appealed to me.

What are you talking? about the dino head goes inside the torso and allows you to light up his chest.

I love the fact this design is so neutral. I think this design is more Generations than Fall of Cybertron. I plan to repaint it to be more G1 with a bit of generations style.

As for the dead in the back and light it seems to be a good idea but It seems to be an after thought to me. As for the figure it self its way to thin. I look forward to what each of you kit-bashers come up with. I know I have a few Ideas. Ill just keep that to my self for now.

There's a toy discussion on this piece that could really use some input from people that like it...just saying.

He looks pretty cool. Dinosaur mode is ok, but could have been better.

I got mine a few days ago. Transformation is quick and easy (not a bad thing). Robot mode is BEASTLY! Could have used a bigger sword and shield but whatever. Dino mode is pretty big especially when compared with FOC prime. I think he should tower over prime in both modes. In dino mode his tail when viewed from above makes him look like a salamander, but really who is going to be displaying him to be viewed from that angle. I really like this version of grimlock in both modes and all the "negatives" have a purpose. Hollow = light up gimmick. Big fat tail = tall beefy legs for towering mightily over others.

The Pathblaster from FOC Sideswipe does fit in Grimlocks hand :)  You have to be careful when putting it im his fist though. Just angle the pathblaster away from Grimlock and it'll fit. That bottom fin on the pathblaster makes angling it in a neccessity.

My dinomode jaw is a bit weak and flompy. Anyone else seeing this and has a fix for tightening the joint so the mouthpieces open and close better?

Though he's far from perfect, he is probably one of, if not the best grimlock we have ever got! I like him. and it should not be that hard for hasbro/takara to come out with a few more foc dinobots. for example, the new generations BW rhinox is a perfect mold candidate for slug and sludge. look at it and tell me it's not, almost the same transformation and everything. just a remolding of the shell and a few other things. a world of creative ideas and possibilities if they use that mold for the dinobots.

your right. I used lego hero factory parts to fill in the back of the legs, and it works!. also, even when you tuck the dino head in the back their are gaps and spaces, so i used a lego wheel adapter with 2 small plastic coaster wheels. i snapped them together and it slides right in and the dino head actually fits in better covering all the gaps. i couldn't believe it worked! Im going to try to upload some pics if i can. but on another note, do you reallly think hasbro/takara will bring out the rest of the dinobots? at least one more?

I have been asking the same question, searching every forum. and when it seems that all hope is lost, we find news of a valiant 3rd party company that have answered our long and desperate pleads. lol ( I couldn't resist). anyway, planet x is coming out with their unofficial foc swoop. and it is off the chart! perfect scale with foc grimlock. a must have for all dinobot fans.... planet x PX-02 caelus. check it out.

i think thats one hell of a shot!!! grimlock and grimstone. you might be on to something hear, great idea!

my fault, i thought it read grimstone. not brimstone
