can we take 5 seconds to talk about the evil incarnate that is my pretty pony? They look reanimated.

Twice as disturbing in packs because they all have that same creepy melancholy posture

They weren't "UK exclusives". Other European countries got them too, and Australia and New Zealand even got them in US-style packaging.

Seriously, after all these years, people still think the UK was a unique market during the Nineties?

Look at their faces. Their posture. They know the end is coming. Of course they know it, they already -accepted it-, and with no hope left all they do is laugh. They give a faint, weak smile of amusement, finding joy in the simple fact that WE don't know. We will be caught off-guard, we will be horrified and surprised by the carnage and we will suffer.

What does that have to do with Hasbro? Those toys were just licensed from Takara, who had originally designed them for their Diaclone line. I don't see why Hasbro deserves special credit for those toys.

By the way, it appears the backdrop used for the Transformers part of the 1984 catalog was also used for the European catalog by Milton Bradley:
20th Century Toy Collector ยป MB Transformers: Part 3

Also of note: Bluestreak in cartoon colors (aka the other Diaclone version).
