I'd say the new paint scheme seems better than the wannabe G1-styled original... and its scheme will mesh so much better with Nemesis Prime or Darkness Megatron. I still think the combined form is a tad funky (all that kible lying around) but to those that like it... it'd make a nice display I suppose.

 

Yes, because the first release went so well!

 

I ended up passing on the original Gaia Unicron, mainly because the only reason I wanted it was for the Micron, and the fact that it looks neat when combined with Unicron's arm, but for those two things alone, the price wasn't justifiable. Whilst I think the chroming looks better here, and indeed, Darkness Unicron has a gorgeous paint job (not forgetting, however, the tendency of TakaraTomy to photoshop Arms Micron figures to oblivion), I still don't feel that it's necessary for me to buy. It's just one mould that I don't really care about, and as far as Prime goes, I've attempted to get most of the moulds, and a lot of my figures are the Arms Micron versions, but this one is not one I'll be buying. It does look nice, though.

 

Ah ha, I was wondering when pics of this thing would pop up. Looks badass.

I'm assuming "O" means this one will be orange this time around then?

Hopefully it's not too hard to acquire.

Very much so! The only bad thing about this will be adding another expensive preorder to a burgeoning early '13 list of stuff I'm already targeting. Totally worth it though, for me.

 

I hear ya dude!   Sometimes us collectors gotta do what we gotta do. for the love of the hobby!  

 

I tried regular Unicron on Dark Guard FE Optimus and it fits fine the Nightmare version should really suit the colours too - It may even look better on the FE mould anyway as it's a bit bigger.

But that Unicron always looks far nicer on Weaponizer Prime anyway.
