it might be the same figure but i just compared my 25th optimus to the new reissue i received from bbts and the shades of red and blue are different. the new reissue i received has the darker colors than the 25th but the autobot symbols are tampo'd as reported.

This. I know there are third-party ones, but between that and getting a G1-accurate blue roller (because I'm that guy), there's only one G1 Optimus that I would buy at the moment, and that's the Takara Collection one (which, as far as I know, is the most accurate to the original cartoon, colours not included, of course, but I don't mind either colour scheme), and that's why I still don't have a G1 Optimus Prime (also because I saw the 25th Anniversary one here once, when I was on holiday elsewhere in the country, and couldn't afford to buy it at the time, and I NEVER saw it again. Ever).

Thanks to the Mods for posting this (I'm "Bruticus" on the Sister Site).

There have been some reports that I have heard since this where people are getting the correct color cabs, but almost 100% of the time, it's always been the lighter shade of trailer, which to me is a major turn-off. It's also been confirmed that it's definitely not the same quality as the original Commemorative release, and you may notice they don't even refer to it as that on the packaging, either. Not sure what HASTAK's thinking is with this.

To answer the other question posted, this will definitely be an online retailer-only release, as there has been no word of any relationships with Toys R Us, WalMart, Target or any other retailer carrying any of the re-re-releases.

A friend of mine picked up a restock(reissue) Commerative one from BBTS and he said the quality was not good at all. I wouldn't mind one in more G2 shading if the quality was good but I hate that bright cream colored trailer.

To make me buy that middle of the road mould again They'd need to pep it up a lot such as Include an Action Master Black Optimus, more tampographs, The device label head and optional open finger hands. Other than that I suppose it's OK if you don't own an Optimus - though there's certainly plenty of choice already. (Nearly 30 years of choice in fact).

I guess I am glad that more people can get their hands on this, but I still don't see how it is "interesting" no matter what version of G1 Optimus Prime this is or the packaging :peoples:

    HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!

So this is what they did with all those hideous shelf-warming 25th Anniversary Primes when they took them off the shelves.

    Poor completionists.

Such a horrible Optimus Prime reissue being marketed as the Commemorative version.

Seems like Hasbro is being dishonest now, like some of the ebay peoples out there.

Hasbro, you sly dogs you. :lol

Awesome! I've given you a news credit with your post here as well as updated the new story.

I guess it just flew under the radar here.

I like the idea of them doing a G2 reissue....mix it up a bit.

I bought my pink reissue Prime from Kmart when it was $20. Goes nice with orange MP Prime. I wish the colors had been wilder. Like others said, anybody who genuinely wanted a red Prime had 25+ years to get one. Give us some crazy colors.

That I would be all over, as long as Takara does it so it does not have neutered Stacks and super long trailer missiles.

Screw that, I bought my one and only re-issue Prime back in Dec 2007 when Takara started the Encore line....I paid $60 for him then, and he's still MIB now. I will never buy a Hasbro Optimus Prime or Magnus re-issue, I want long stacks and short G1 correct firing missiles....

I easily passed on the 25th Prime, especially at the same price I paid for a real Takara Prime, no matter what came with the new one, and this one, really easy to leave behind, that gray trailer looks horrible.
