I'm calling it if it hasnt already been said. I think Machine Wars Soundwave is gonna be a retooled Cybertron Defense Red Alert.

Can't wait to go :)  I was either gonna go to SDCC or Botcon (depending on the location) so it looks like i'm going to San Diego regardless...

FYI, While Atlanta is a nice city, it does not do well when it comes to conventions. E3 moved to Atlanta for few years but moved back to Los Angles due to decrease in attendance in both vendors and attendees. The same happened to varios other conventions.

Atlanta is better for East coast people. Some of us - such as myself - have parents who don't comprehend the concept of having variety in vacations & go to the same basic place every year & refuse to venture out of a little self-made bubble. They also never fly us anywhere. So for me personally, Dallas was too far too drive, flying was not an option due to parental stubborn-ness, & the timing last year was crap. If it hadn't been during school, maybe I would've had at least a SLIGHT chance of going. If it were in Atlanta, well...only a 45 minute drive for me. But, being in California again means a no-go for me. Since SavCon has to be put off until 2014, me & some of my friends are officially deprived of any Transformers conventions for the entire year of 2013 unless something changes between now & summer. =/

Could still be a good thing time wise for some -
Considering how SDCC Sells out so fast and alot of people actually can't go to SDCC, this is a great alternative for them. I already got my SDCC tickets and will be going to Botcon - very happy it is close enough to make the drive

This 100%. Im going to comic-con as well a couple weeks later but I really enjoyed botcon and cant wait to go next year. when it was here in LA a couple years ago. I wish JoeCon would come to LA or SD once but no such luck.

Sorry Botcon I can't make it. Too far away. Guess I'll never make it to one.

The thing that really has me worried about the closeness of BOTCON and SDCC is not the financial aspect of going to both, cuz I've no plans to go to SDCC, but the reveals might be non existent. This years SDCC grimlock slide said BOTCON on it, but obviously something changed and they waited for a larger stage to present on. Botcon reveals could be severely hurt by this.

I'm thinking it could be the other way around. Maybe BotCon, the Transformers convention, will get the awesome reveals this year. SDCC could get a re-hash of them.

But, considering the short time span, I wouldn't be too concerned, really. Either we get the reveals at Botcon and they just show them off again at SDCC, or we have to wait two weeks until the SDCC panel feed and photos are posted.

Maybe I sound a little callous, but I honestly don't see how that's all that much of an issue.

sad thing is usually most BC get the raw deal in reveals and all the good shit is at sdcc.

you would think with it being centered around transformers we would get better reveals.

I don't honestly think it will hurt reveals too much. Botcon would likely get more reveals due to its proximity to comic-con. Comic-con already rehashes some of the botcon reveals anyway so they'll just likely reserve a few for each as an exclusive one. Or intentionally divide it in half. I can't imagine Botcon suffering for this.
