Umm last year was in your home state? They need to have one in the Midwest say Chicago area or east coast. Not expensive ass Disney either.
what's a parts party? I've not heard of those. Something the fans get together or does someone specific put it together?
Me and my brother had parts parties when we were kids, but the transformers and gijoes did NOT enjoy them
It'd be nice to go to a Bot Con one year, but maybe it'll come to me on the east side. Maybe stick it in the week between SDCC and TFCon. Have it in Toronto just to boot (facepalm)!
They should have Botcon in Vegas, but mostly because I just moved there. In any case, I will do my best to be there.
Posted earlier in the thread... Parts parties started out in early Botcons as a way for collectors to meet up and buy/sell/trade parts they needed to complete figures. Especially since back then, BW was still the new toy on shelves and the only "collectors" were after G1 stuff. That stuff was harder to complete back then. Now it's grown to practically be a dealer room all it's own.
There are plans for a 2013 Third Party again as well. We'll be working out the details on that and announcing them when we're able.
Well at Botcon room to room trading has always been done since 1995. I started going to Botcon in 2000 and conducted a parts party of my own, it has since grown to something of it's own. We do it every year and offer a place for everyone to come hangout, trade / sell / buy. We have raffles, games, and a lot of fun. Check out past parties http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...s/576496-official-megatoyfan-parts-party.html http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...l-megatoyfan-parts-party-slagacon-2012-a.html http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...1-megatoyfan-parts-party-post-your-wants.html There are more but these are the most current. If you have not been to one stop by. We will advertise when and where in the conventions section.
good to hear. And lookin forward to checkin out your booth, captured prey is becoming one of my favorite dealers very quickly
Since it's in San Diego, I'm thinking/dreading we won't get a Universal Studios tour again even though they have Transformers the Ride. However, legoland is in within driving distance
Pete, I don't suppose you can shed any light publicly or privately about why it was put back on the West Coast, when it's very likely that Paramount will entice Hasbro/FunPub to return to Pasadena for the TF4 hype? I know I'm not alone in being disappointed that it's not somewhere on the East Coast.
Silly question, as I don't fly often for business or personal: I know that either of the NYC airports are a nightmare for layovers, unless you're a regular; as is BOS. What about DEN, MCI (Kansas City MO), PHoeniX, or such?
I only fly out of little Hartford Connecticut or providence Rhode Island Will not consider Boston or New York
Wow just 3 weeks befopre SDCC, in the smae city That is pretty bold. It could be the Best BC ever, or the worst if people hold out for SDCC. Another BC in in my home state I would love to go, I hope my finances can permit.
MCI sucks. You have to leave the secured area for anything decent to eat. Void it like the plague. Sky Harbor in Phoenix is rad. Free Internet from what I remember. I can't remember Denver too much. Don't fly through there too often.
