Time for another TFW Transformers Toy Gallery update. Today I am very happy to share with you all a gallery of one of my favorite new toys coming out in Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Wave 3, Kickback.

Why is Kickback so great? He is, basically, a well-made and fun toy. He transforms from insect mode to robot mode in a clever way that manages to be innovative without being overly-complicated. Both modes are quite striking with lots of purple and a little gold making for a particularly sharp look. In insect mode Kickback is not all that poseable - the insect legs can be adjusted but that's about it. In robot mode though you've got plenty of movement - just about everything other than a waist swivel, and nice big feet with ankle poseability to help hold those poses. Kickback comes with a big, disk-launching weapon and two clear plastic swords which form his wings in insect mode. The disk-launcher is a nice extra, but it is a bit heavy and hard for Kickback to wield. The swords though give a great range of poses. As you might notice in the pictures, Kickback inherits the Transformers Prime Insecticon's additional clawed arms, but if you do not care for the look then they can be stowed on his back.

Where I personally feel Kickback truly shines though is the fact he can more or less fit in with three different types of collection. He will sit well with the other Fall of Cybertron toys of course, but he also goes with the Classics line and even fits in with the Prime line to a point. I've done comparisons of all three as a part of our gallery, which you can check out by opening the link below:

Gosh. Either Universe Ironhide is tiny or FOC Kickback's huge.

At the current rate of distribution, we can expect to see this on the shelves sometime in Spring- 2017.

Can't say that I'm a big fan of this one. Maybe some paint apps would help out..

Ironhide's tiny... makes you wonder about the smaller scaled figures being released recently... after all Ironhide was released years ago... and yet... he stands head-to-head to Kickback, who happens to be a head shorter than WFC Megatron... so yea...

Speaking of Prime Insecticons... man... you'd think Takara would've at least made a mold of that in Voyager scale! >_<

I wish the insect mode was a little "cleaner", but I still like him nonetheless. I'll definitely buy him when (if?) I see him.

    HA! So true.

I'll be ordering the Takara version for my FOC collection, and buy maybe three of the Hasbro ones to army build for my Prime collection. We have to make shit up since we couldn't get an actual Prime-verse Insecticon.

This is probably the only FOC toy I'll buy. Like, ever. Helps he isn't a fatty mcfat fat like most WFC figures.

Uh... fits with the FOC and Prime... yes. Classics, not so much. Especially when compared to FansProject.

I'm glad you could remove the swords from the Gear Shreader. Now to buy multiple so I can get that delicious weapon.

Also, kinda surprised he's bigger than backfirey. Never would have guessed that a Hasbro figure would be bigger than a 3P one

It's not necessarily a complaint. and i can't put my finger on why, but when i look at this toy, it just strikes me as the one of the most unTransformerlike Transformers i've seen in a long time.

And that's coming from someone who has no particular complaints with the look of the characters in the Paramount movies.

Thank you for this review. This clears up a lot of the reluctance I initially felt with this figure and has mad me VERy excited for it, I may even have to get the Tak version (one insecticon is NEVER enough).
My only nit to pick is those swords, they just dont seem, well...Swordlike enough. Maybe something can be designed through Shapeways *cough ARIEL cough* but other than that a VERY solid figure that I look forward to adding to my shelf.

After looking at the comparison pics, if HAS puts out the other 2 insecticond I wont have to buy the FP versions. Yes I think this figure is THAT well done. Bravo to Hasbro for coming through on this one. Now I need a voyager size Hardshell for my Prime collection...

I really didn't like the look of this guy the first time I saw him, but for whatever reason the more I have seen of him the more the toy has kind of grown on me.

I still don't really like the pincher arms on the wings, but that's what he looked like in the game, so can't really fault the toy for that.
