Instead of Disc (or Disk, which reminds me of those crappy and useless Floppy Disks), why not call them Data-cons/Data-bots. They are robots designed for data storage plus IMO sound better than Disc/Disk.

I'd really like to know what you were expecting for half a legend figure?

These disks are better than that Ravage.

Problem: They are one Legends figure, in a two-pack. That's what they are priced as.

For full price, the criticism is pretty justified.

Not yet. They are out in Australia, which is where SydneyY got his from, and they are also out in Asia.

Problem with that logic: PE Rumble cost 5-10 times as much as these. Even with Hasbro's overall lower production costs, there's no way they could do something as complicated at the same price.

I guess you are right because I am comparing apples and oranges Mr Sol Fury. Different toyline (3rd party CHUG imitations to official Fall of Cybertron line) and different price tag.

But I just couldn't help myself not give a very negative initial reaction!:throw

gimmickry vs. quality i see. these are less poseable and more poorly proportioned than their original incarnations.

I will happily sacrifice elbows, with a giant smile on my face, in exchange for a Soundwave who actually shoots cassettes out of his chest that transform on their own. I WILL be down on my hands and knees on the floor with the toys and saying "Rumble, Ravage, Laserbeak, eject - *snap* *pyong* - eject! - *snap* *pyong* - EJECT! *snap* *prong*" I have waited twenty-eight years for this. IT IS JOY AND I WILL OWN IT ALL.

Perhaps an improvement on the Legends figures we got over 29 years ago maybe?

Declaring it a legends figure is no excuse either way since I would've preferred scout class figures instead.

Okay then raise the price....I mean they're doing anyway so lets see some quality in exchange for our dollars.

Those PE figures are beautiful. So cool that I even caved in and bought them over those United R/F figures we never got in the States mind you.

If Hasbro made the same figures calling them the Platinum Edition selling them for the price as Scout or even Deluxe class they still would've sold faster than hotcakes.

We all know how ridiculously high those 3rd party figures can get which is why we rely so much on Hasbro to step their game up. Instead, it's their lack of quality or ability to produce the figures fans want, that breaths air into these other companies in the first place.

I get it though, it's a gimmick. Problem is that it's a lacking, whether it's a budgeting issue or not.

So in 29 years how poor in quality will the next Soundwave and cassette iteration be in comparison to the current?

Ratbat is the only one that really looks decent to me. I'll probably get his pack and FOC Soundblaster to accompany WfC Soundwave, GDO Laserbeak, Universe 2 Ravage, and United Frenzy & Rumble (still wish Hasbro would release these in the U.S.). Now FOC Blaster and his discs may almost be "must-gets" since it is probably the best (and ONLY in the case of the minions) "modern" toys they will get.

Your personal opinion that it "should have been a Scout" doesn't make it any better or worse in fact, only in your own eyes, and therefore the Legends scale could be considered a concession. I can appreciate the viewpoint, but to be honest, my feeling is you have high standards that are next to impossible to meet. Correct me if I'm wrong on that, as I know you have a particular idea of what you'd like to see happen I've just yet to see you praise something as having met that (the comics being an exception)

In the meantime - I'm with McFeely:

The return of Activators. Which were awesome. I love spring loaded transformations. No missiles to lose. No batteries to leak, no oversized accesory the figure can't grip properly. Just collector friendly desk candy play time.

Fall of cybertron themed micro activators!

Bonus Round: Launching them through hoops and through towers of stacked blocks while they transform.

yeah I gotta say I'm pretty overly excited for these. kinda realize they won't be much in terms of articulation or display but they look like they will be a helluva lot of fun in addition to sw/sb. a few bucks more for a couple minions? sure I'm down.
