I wonder it Masterpiece Sideswipe is 1:32 scale? The level of detail on these new Alternitys is amazing. In addition to the price, these toys are really only for adult collectors. I am waiting to see the Black Convoy version.

The original mold had it and all the listings for the new ones specify it.

I have Alternity Ultra Magnus and he looks fine in car mode next to MP-12. Better in fact because of the rubber tires, interior details, opening door, bonnet and boot (hood and trunk to you Americans).

    Alternity > Masterpiece. :)

In robot mode MP-12 is a head or two taller and looks bulkier.

    This ^^^

Also, since it's not a Masterpiece, it means the paint job won't be f'ed up to all hell, have misaligned panels, plastic deformities, limbs falling off, or springs popping out, etc.

I wonder if they postponed MP Soundwave because they had to put the whole first run in the trash to avoid a repeat of the MP-12 fiasco.

Back to these guys, I really like Optimus' car mode, seems a lot more detailed than Star Saber's, and I like the red and black combination.

Thanks, I never had any Alternity figures. So this is going to be a small toy for $120 or so shipped. Eeeek... Great paint and they look very detailed though

I wouldn't read just too much into that just yet (it could be a kids hands), but it certainly is an interesting idea. If it happened to be true it would certainly explain the jump in price.

I'm pretty sure that it's a kid holding the toy.

The only reason for the price being higher is that it's an exclusive collaboration with Super GT.

Also preordered both. I have been in love with the Calsonic Skyline (GT-R) ever since the early days of Gran Turismo, so this is a definite pick up for me. These will be my first figures from the Alternity line. What an awesome way to start.

Boy you could not be any more wrong. That car in the video is a 180SX, and it's POWERSLIDING aka fake/noobish drifting.

These TFs are modeled after the Super GT Nismo/Calsonic Skyline R35 GT-R

The figure will be very small since they are to fit into the car.

You don't know what you're talking about on a regular basis, do you? :)

Imagine how small those figures would have to be to fit in a 1:32 scale car.

These clearly look like the newer Microman style figures (think Superlink Kicker & eHOBBY Ga'mede).
