I'm not entriely sure this is new news or not but I feel it needed some warranting.

I found out some possible bad news going to a few Walmarts here in phoenix, Arizona as of late.

After speaking to a few managers and the folks in charge of ordering. I found out Walmart is going to be discontinuing the entire Prime line of toys. They are no longer ordering anything from the line. I also plan on speaking to some Hasbro reps who visit as well just to find out for the most part what's going on. But I am pretty sure the american Prime line is done. At least til Beast Hunters starts up next year. but they did not confirm this. they just kept saying as far as what the computers say Transformers have been cancelled in the future and Walmart isn't ordering any anymore. but they elaborated in stated it was just the Prime line. Botshots and Generations is still safe. (for now)

But apparently Sales for Transformers just aren't doing well in Walmart as of late due to most not having access to the Hub and there's no movies coming til 2014. so the desire to go out and buy them just isn't there for the most part.

However, the new Generations line is not being discontinued and is still being ordered. but sales for that line right now seems to be just as poor as the prime line.

par for the course I guess.

I have started seeing the combaticons show up at some of the Walmarts so keep your eyes peeled guys. Though so far it's only been a single case of 8 showing up at each Walmart location I've been to. :)

Can anyone else verify if any of the above is true at their local Walmarts?

Seeing as all the new Prime toys are out there except for Voyager Skyquake, this is to be expected really. We're just seeing the normal switch from one line to another.

That's the thing, They specifically said the Prime line as in the whole line.

I hope this is wrong. and in that case Beast Hunters may be under it's own banner instead of the Prime banner.

No wonder there hasn't been anything new at my local Walmart for a month. I've found most of my stuff at Target anyways.

Yep. Hell, talked to a local toy manager just the other day, and she said she just ordered more voyagers for the upcoming holiday rush, as that's the one pricepoint that continues to sell lightning fast. It's going to vary store to store.

I knew something was up when I saw my walmart was totally void of anything good from Prime. They only had one Bumblebee on the shelf, but 3 FOC Shockwaves! it kinda makes sense I guess since the line is sort of taking a break, what with the FOC figures coming & no knew prime stuff until next year.

Wild hunch Walmart, but u shouldnt say u have the best prices when ur TF figures r higher than Targets! U used to be good Walmart :(

It was explained to me that the price increases are due to the fact that the demand for the product has plummeted. it's normal. Nothing to do with economy. it's just about supply and demand. (it was one of the many things brought up when speaking to Walmart Store managers)

It's their tagline for the entire store, not just toys. Of course they're going to be beaten... also most Walmarts will price match competitors.

Want to talk insane pricing? Look at Walgreens compared to Walmart. I used to think Walgreens was insane, but they have Deluxes for $12.99 still, compared to my Walmart's $15.96.

As long as Wal-mart keeps carrying the new TMNT line I'm fine.

Currently Walgreens prices are the same as Target for Transformers.

wait... they're keeping FOC, but ditching prime because a lot of kids don't have the hub? i don't know most kids below 13 that have an XBOX or whatever.

to be fair Fall Of Cybertron is under the Generations banner which is simply a "Filler" line and always has been. Generations 3.0 or whatever you want to call it, is just way for Transformers to stay in circulation between Transformers lines. since the Transformers property has always been one of Hasbro's big money makers.

Uhm... this is normal. All lines stop getting ordered so they can sell out before ordering the next line. Beast Hunters is being treated as a new line. It's Hasbro's way of keeping retailers stocked with "fresh" product.

Not surprising. They're easily the best value in TF toys currently, seeing as they're the only size class that hasn't balooned in price or been axed entirely. For only $4 or so more than the average price of a deluxe, you get a figure that's about twice as massive.

This is no doubt partially because the Hub is such a limited channel. I hate the way Cartoon Network handles shows sometimes, but there's no doubt Prime would have a lot more exposure on a channel like that. I have noticed that the Prime line doesn't go as fast as Animated did, although that's just my area. I'm sure the pricing is a factor too. Anyways, I'm not worried, they always stop ordering a while before a new line comes along, it's why figures that come at the tail-end of the line are a pain to find.
