There's a lot of assumptions and 'he tell me' being thrown around this thread as truth.

One manager, from one location is not a valid source. While what he/she told you may end up being the truth, it should not be taken as such until we have some more concrete information. Until Hasbro comes out with a communication or all Walmarts put their Prime toys on clearance, it should still be accepted as just a rumor.

With Prime ending and being replaced by the Beast Hunters line (which retailers and Hasbro are treating as a brand new line, hence the waves starting from 1 again) it's only a matter of time before every store clearances / discontinues regular Prime stuff.

This is a good thing -- how many stores did people go to when Prime hit and still found a ton of DOTM on the shelves? If Wal-Mart stops ordering new product, it can burn through its remaining inventory.

It sucks for people who are still looking for figures but this is common and it's why the last waves of figures are a pain in the ass to find, as stores stop ordering as soon as they get wind of a new line.

It did seem like some retailers got stuck with Bumblebee figures sitting on the shelves so I could kind of see why they weren't as interested in ordering more figures. Just seems a bit odd to drop a line right before the big Christmas rush when just about everything Transformers sees a strong uptick in sales from movie related toys to Generations.

I'm not ready to declare "death of the line" until we see how retailers stock up for Black Friday. While my local Wal-Mart hasn't been stocking very well lately they might be holding back some cases for the holiday rush instead of being caught with no Transformers when parents hit the toy section.

This better be for the Beast Hunters line.

We'll see Skyquake at Ross or some discount store like that.

Cept here in Australia. A price of a voyager is twice as much as a deluxe. ($50)

    If this is true...

I'm pissed. Walmart is my only store in my town.

Well, yeah, but Secretcode is in Kentucky, so obviously he's talking about the US sales. And in the US, the Voyagers have stayed $20 while everything else has gone up in price.

Not at all surprising. If the first wave of Beast Hunters is going to be given any chance at being seen at retail, the existing Prime line needs to be on it's way out. It's not like stores around here stocked even half the line anyway...

It's also worth pointing out that individual Wal-Marts have a much larger amount of personal freedom about what they stock compared to a store like Target. All Targets tend to follow the national layout and stock the same products. Wal-Marts don't have the same unified format and individual stores can vary greatly (there are three here, for example, and one has a really different layout and another has a toy section that's more devoted to toy guns and tractors because its designed to cater to a more rural market). So basically, even if one Wal-Mart does discontinue carrying Prime, it doesn't necessarily follow that all the other ones will too.

Yeah, sounds like Wal-Mart may be just not replenishing stock so they aren't sitting on a bunch of stuff when Beast Hunters rolls out. Hopefuly won'e too big a deal unless the onlt thing on shelves over the holidays at Wal-Mart are leftover Bumblebees. Then everyone else gets my business. :)

Speaking of individual Wal-Marts acting alone, the one closest to me apparently decided to stop carrying Kre-O, and never stocked any of the newer TF kits or blind-bag figures.

Hopefully we will still be able to get Skyquake (love his deco). And I still have yet to find Thundertron and Magnus.

    I hope this isn't true.

1- Walmart is my only store in my town.
    2- I haven't seen anything beyond wave 2.

Well, poo. That sucks. Would explain why my Walmart hasn't stocked any new Prime toys in quite some time...although, I think they may have restocked the Cyberverse line recently.

My local Walmart sucks when it comes to stocking ANY TF stuff anyway. They don't even have any of the new Generations stuff in. The last three or four times I've been in there, all they had were three FoC Primes and maybe two Shockwaves. As far as Prime stuff goes, they had a ton of Cyberverse, one of each of the Weaponizers, a Voyager Prime and a Voyager Megatron.

Hell, I was surprised when I walked in one day back in August and found Voyager Dreadwing staring at me. I can't really blame my local Walmart, though. I live in a podunk little town in the middle of nowhere, VA. From what my manager friend tells me, and this is redundant I know, but they order what sells and, apparently, TF's aren't a big seller here. I'd say they restock TF stuff once every four months, if that. No joke. :(

So, in closing, this won't effect me much because I do very little of my TF shopping at Walmart.

This sums up how I feel about this:

Robot Chicken - DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT - YouTube

I am kind of disappointed in how Hasbro handled the TF: PRIME line as well. So much missed opportunity here. I would have loved to have seen and bought:

Sunstreaker (new mold or remold of Wheeljack)
    Sideswipe (new mold)
    Jazz (new mold)
    Prowl (new mold)
    Elita-1 (Arcee repaint)
    Blurr (Knock-Out repaint)
Smokescreen (his own mold with Prowl and not a repaint of Knock-Out)
    Ironhide (only by Takara, sadly)
Skyquake (maybe we will, but most likely online only)
    Skywarp (Takara only)
    Thundercracker (Takara only)
    Swindle (new mold)

To name a few. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, we got bare-bones selection instead. Not to mention a ton of BB's, stealth BB's, and oh look, even MOAR BB's! :(

Hopefully Beast Hunters has a MUCH better distribution. Can't get worse.
