That was a great mini interview. Odd to hear Bay talk so positively about an actor who bashed him, but very cool he isn't taking it personal. Happy that it's the same lineage though, and that it's so much fine between dotm and the next one. I think that will help it out to give it a "new era" feeling.

I would say no. He has made movies that have spectacular elements but has never made a single compelling movie. I dont think he even knows how to accomplish this. No appreciation of pace and flow and very, very predictable.
I consider him more of an action/special effects consultant than a director.

Even then, some of his action sequences are confusing, seizure inducing nonsense. But when he gets it right, it's good.

Exactly. Fortunately for him, Hollywood can't always tell the difference, lol.

so just to make sure, it's still got Shia, it's not a reboot and it will most likely continue to feature all the same characters so......everything previously said was a lie? yep, par for the course.

Yes you are 100% correct. I also see Dr. Dre wearing lipstick and rick Ross was a corrections officer. You cant erase the past.

You know what I don't do? I don't follow threads about movie franchises I don't care for. Because what's the point, unless I just want to go in there and be a dick.

You need a new schtick 03Mach1.
Calling all criticsm of Bay "hate" is getting pretty old now.
Whilst you're there you can throw "box office money = quality" in the bin too.

And you still haven't said what you thought of Pearl Harbour...

Well, maybe you care about Transformers and want to see a better movie?
    I don't know, maybe that's just crazy.

I dont follow threads about franchises I don't care about either.
Nor would I suggest anybody else was doing that. Unless, you know, I wanted to be a dick.

It is kind of funny that some people can't think that maybe the reason some people haven't been happy with the films is because they want something better. Or that if you weren't happy with the films that you hated every minute of the films instead of being a person who sees room for improvement to take the films from just summer fun to something that ranks up there with the epic science fiction films.

Given the improvements from Revenge of the Fallen to Dark of the Moon maybe it's not such a bad thing that there are people demanding better from the production team.

Because it's not relevant to the discussion. Neither is the 1000+ posts asking if Bay has ever made a good movie. Or just the general, hate filled posts that drive the movie threads into oblivion. I have never said the movies are perfect nor would I ever claim to. But reading post after drivel filled post claiming the live action TF series is the worst series EVER created by Hollywood and suggesting the director, producers, actors, camera guys, sound guys, etc. are nothing but worthless hacks who deserved to be drawn into the street and quartered is beyond fucking old. I happen to love this franchise through the good and the bad.

So excuse me if I think there is more good than bad in these films and that I'm tired of reading immature, inflammatory posts for the last five years. If you want to see some change, write a letter to Paramount, Hasbro, Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg or whoever else you think actually gives a damn.

    No time for that bullshit.
In fact, from now on: ignored. I have better things to do.

    Well said.

Off Course he defends the guy who bashed his films a couple of months ago and yet he gets mad at a voice actor who politely said he has no real connection to the project.

    ....:rolleyes2

Ok, the opinion that maybe you complainers want a better movie may have been valid one or two movies ago. But at this point we all know what we're going to get. Another Michael Bay movie exactly like every other Michael Bay movie. Maybe you should accept it and move on instead of acting like spoiled little princesses who didn't get what they wanted.

I find that unfair. Wanting better then passable mediocrity (06, DOTM) and terrible (ROTF) isn't being a "spoiled little princess". It's wanting them to make a good movie from the hugely expansive source material.
Michael Bay is a director and some directors are definitely able to improve as they go along, I think its really lame to just say that he wont ever improve and that you're in the wrong to want him to. Bad argument. Who knows? I actually have hope for this film, even though DOTM had many flaws, it was a definite improvement on the abysmal ROTF and I can honestly say I enjoyed watching it in the cinema, compared to how I hated watching ROTF in the cinema. Maybe he'll listen and take his film up another notch from DOTM, which could make it good?

It's always valid to want better, not all of us just want to give up hope and just try and enjoy something we know could be done wonderfully.

And 03Mach1, trying to rebut someone who pointed out you say every dislike of the film is "hate" by making a long post about how everyone who doesn't like the films "hate" it is doing the exact opposite of what you want to do. Making the point that Michael Bay is not known for good movies and is somewhat infamous for making bad movies is not "hate", its actually fact; he isn't a well-liked director even outside the Transformers community.

So let me get this right: Complaining after one or two bad movies was valid, but now after three (the first was just about bearable) and the likelihood of another, it isn't? O.K.

I agree with you. I know what's coming. I don't like it. Other people think the same and want to discuss it...you know, here on this forum for discussing Transformers. Don't like it? Unlucky.

    And spoiled princesses? Really? Ugh...

So better movies only benefit a few select people? That some how making the leap from being summer fun movie like Independence Day to cultural milestone like Star Wars or Indiana Jones would in no way benefit anyone except for the people saying I really wish the production team could work out the kinks and fix a few things.

We just chuck the idea out the window that maybe working on a smaller film like Pain and Gain will give Micheal Bay the chance to learn things he couldn't master on big summer action films?

Look I'm not really banking on anything being really different in Transformers 4 either. But I've seen other franchises make a big turn around from one film to the next. Even Dark of the Moon was a vast improvement over Revenge of the Fallen. So while I don't have faith in them to be different I'll at least say it's plausible for a better different Transformers 4 until the production team proves me wrong.
