Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! I don't, by any stretch, hate what the movies have brought to the table, but I will not spend anymore money to support them. I'm also disappointed in the fact that the magnificent member in boogie nights wasn't real.

Good point, lol. Well, while I doubt Mark is supposed to be playing a teen, I don't feel like he's fresh and interesting anymore. Perhaps it's just bad memories of Planet of the Apes, lol.

I wonder if we'll get a cameo by a certain talking teddy bear?

Was there other comments Shia made on the movies beside what was mentioned in the interview? The only one I know was he didn't want to continue.

Do people really think Mark is going to play a high school boy?

You really think Bay cares about TF tradition? He made Bumblebee a mute bad-ass warrior, put flames on his near homicidal Prime (LOL!) and colored Ironhide black.

The new TF will be a new direction...probably firmly entrenched with NEST/Military characters instead of dealing with Sam and the Witwicky's.

After flicks like Four Brothers, The Departed and Boogie Nights, no one thinks of Mark Walhberg as "Marky Mark" anymore.

How in the world did you go from quoting Bay's description of what Wahlberg's character would be thinking when dealing with the TFs to your ...your...rant. Wouldn't anyone be thinking what that character would think, regardless of proximity?

In many ways the sequel will serve as a reboot. But it will be a soft reboot - continuing the story line while changing some characters and actors - instead of a hard reboot. And that makes sense because there's no need to do a hard reboot of TF. Hard reboots occur because a movie did poorly at the box office or the actors grow too old to play the characters at the center of the story. None of the TF movies flopped, computer generated characters don't age, and the story can progress to exchange one set of human characters/actors with another while nary skipping a beat. There's little benefit to exhausting the time and trouble to pull off a hard reboot when continuing the story line remains a viable option.

Summer action films don't exactly open up every single door like you seem to be thinking. Yes it can open up some opportunities that an actor wouldn't normally have but there a pit falls that often outweigh the good.

For example if you can't fairly quickly pick up hits after a hit franchise then your actor career can quickly end up in the dumps. Since we are talking Transformers take Megan Fox for example. Transformers got her name out there but she couldn't convert that into any success outside of Transformers. Now the only Megan Fox news is about her personal life because she just can't land roles.

Or you get type cast. One of the most famous cases was Mark Hamill who was known world wide thanks to Star Wars but couldn't find film work after that because people could only imagine him as Luke Skywalker. He went on to be a great voice actor but the days of being before the camera were gone. Daniel Radcliffe seems to be having the same problem because people still only think of him as Harry Potter.

Plus Hollywood money is easy come easy go. If you live that Hollywood lifestyle but the roles dry up then you can find yourself at conventions signing autographs just to get by because the money is gone. You are also not factoring in the reason they cast Shia was because they could get him relatively cheap for the standard three movie contract.

At this point, I don't care. Seriously Bay managed to do what 25 years of fandom couldn't. He either made transformers cool again for those who missed it, or created even bigger nerd paraiahs for the rest. Ask anyone who isn't a collector what they thought of the movies. They lump them into one bucket, "Oh they were okay, but I didn't get the whole potty humor". Then they give the funny look when you tell them you collect. Like you're either cool, or a dirty hippy. So yeah, nothings changed, except a more widespread cultural knowledge of the franchise. So yeah, I'm pretty much done with the stupid movies. What I want isn't more live action I want a call back to the original 1980s omg spike said one bad word in the movie, and bumblebee could talk normally, and everything out of Optimus primes mouth didn't sound like the Gettysburg address or the btk killer.

And quite frankly if you still think mark Wahlberg is marky mark, you need to go rent the big hit and shooter. Brother can ACT rings around La beef.

Marc Walberg? I don't really have a problem with that. Imo he is a better actor than Shia.

I'm old enough that I'll always think of him as Marky Mark.

It won't matter one scrap of energon if Wahlberg can act or not if the writing on the movie is sh*t. Bay, do something besides a throwaway, turn-off-your-brain-and-enjoy mindrot toy commercial. TRY and make a good movie this time. Plug up those pesky plot holes. make me believe you can do it.

Hey Micheal Bay, how about casting some transformers as well, since the movie is called transformers.
