We've got three more galleries to share with you now! We are rounding out our gallery coverage of the Transformers Prime Cyberverse Commanders with a look at three of the four releases in Prime Cyberverse Commander Wave 3 and 4 - Nightwatch Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus and Skyquake! All three are pretty cool little toys. Nightwatch Optimus Prime is a redeco of the initial Commander Optimus Prime release, and were it not for his faceplateless head would actually make a decent representation of Nemesis Prime with his overall more dull deco and yellow eyes. Ultra Magnus is a cool little robot, complete with his Magnus hammer, and an unfortunately exposure of his thighs in vehicle mode. Lastly Skyquake is an awesome redeco of Dreadwing, with new weapons, just like the character in the show. He's the first representation of the one-shot villain to get a toy, and he's a worthy addition. Hah Ultra Magnus is a wannabe Maser Tank. Spoiler He really doesn't play the part well since he's more truck than tank. I love the Magnus figure for sure.
Love me some Cyberverse. This line is the reason I've gotten back into collecting Transformers this last year........I hate me some Cyberverse. Lol
I saw Nightwatch and Ultra Magnus, Cyberverse, at my Wal-Mart here in Muscle Shoals, Alabama today. Sadly, I don't collect, Magnus looked great.
the thing about the PRID Cyberverse Ultra Magnus is....that in vehicle mode...the cab section looks very similar to the RID(Carrobots) figure! & the robot mode is almost the same as the TF Animated figure...even down to the big hammer! so instead of toy designers coming up with something new & original, they simply cobbled together designs from two previous tv show/toyline figures
True, although the same argument could be made regarding he general designs of characters such as Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee (based off of the movies) or Bulkhead (= TF:A).
I had Ultra Magnus, dude sucks. I wanted so bad to enjoy the figure, but he has loose shoulders, arms, and legs. His hammer is also too small for his hands to hold, they slip right off. The arms and legs you can fix, but the shoulders and the hands being too big to grip his weapon is a lost cause. Hasbro really dropped the ball on what could have been one of the best cyberverse in the line.
