No thanks. It's kind of too bad it's the deluxe mold. I think the concept would have worked better if they had used one of the voyager Prime molds without the faceplate.

A second suggestion would be not to make him lighter, but a tad bit more purple/pink, like he was shown in some previous pictures that had a wrong color profile:

Now, he's just an uninteresting Optimus deluxe that's only somewhat interesting because of his Arms Micron. :(

He's very interesting to Japanese fans though, since this is their first release of this mold.

Kinda makes me think "what's the point" and that micron screams GPS! Unless GPS is no longer a issue

It does not scream GPS. It's gold chrome.

Well, with chrome there's always the problem of bits chipping off. But yeah, Gold Plastic Syndrome is literally that: a problem with gold plastic, not plastic that has an added layer of chrome. :)

GPS is not as big an issue as it was a couple of years back, although even in recent years there's the occassional character that gets it. Protoform Starscream from thr TF07 line apparently has it, too!

Apart from the completionists though, just how interesting would it be to regular buyers when there's the better voyager on shelves as well? I'm aware Takara/Tomy is trying to market TF Prime more as hobby kits (hence the AM figures and stickers), in hopes of appealing to Japanese kids, but I was always under the assumption that Transformers in Japan was always geared more towards people with more money to spend.

He's a mould I dont already own, as I didn't pick up the Entertainment 2-pack. But that deluxe Prime doesn't interest me one bit in the first place so much so that it will make me want to spend $52 shipped on this. Ugh. Great news for Japanese collectors, thou.

The deluxe Prime mold is just fine - I don't know why so many people don't like it.

I've had the Entertainment Pack one for a while, and I really like him.

IMHO for me the deluxe is unnecessary because the FE Voyager more than compensates for what is my main Prime figure from the line. I dont hate the deluxe...except that it feels needless for me to buy it just because it is a Prime toy.

Admittedly I do like the scaling between the Deluxe optimus prime and megatron.
