Yeah I also just noticed the thing about the elephants fund....it seems nice, but I can't help but feel like its just to get more publicity and get a point across :(

I don't think Weaving was insulting Michael Bay, but it is a little off-putting that in today's economy, where some people are thrilled to even have a job making minimum wage, that we have a guy lamenting about how meaningless and unfulfilled the job left him feeling...while pocketing $200k for two hours worth of work.

Which post, specifically? There are too many to single out just one.

    Oh...you meant Bay.

oh c'mon, Megatron died twice, you all really wants he come back to TF4? Weaving will not return, no matter he and Bay discuss or turn best friends. Hope that Frank Welker dubs the new main villain if its going to be Galvatron, or any other...

Michael Bay is quickly becoming the "Stephen Wacker" of the TF movie franchise...

And for everyone siding with Bay and saying Weaving should be glad he made him famous... you do recall Weaving HAS a career, right?

How is this the point or relevant at all to Weaving's statement? That is just peripheral nonsense that people are injecting in order to artificially validate Michael Bay's point and dragging the more impressionable people with them - Almost like a Fox News tactic.

Weaving is not being ungrateful, he is just stating his opinion on that particular job, it doesn't matter if he got paid $200,000 or $2 - That is completely beside the point.

    Who really cares?

Hugo was giving a comment about a job that he did, that he really didn't like. It happens. It is good to enjoy what you do and be proud of it. I see nothing wrong with that.

Actually, if you read the article you will ascertain that Weaving never bad mouthed Bay or the TF series. He mearly stated he had no idea about the franchise, never met Bay except for a video conference and only recorded dialogue for a few hours.

Here it is again for those who like to jump to conclusions.

Bays just being a drama queen.
His overinflated ego can't handle a little honesty.

    This is silly.

Weaving is a very talented actor who was expressing disinterest and remoteness to the role, which is completely understandable considering the scripted voice work amounted to a string of one-liners and, as he states, he was never on set. Not to mention his voice was engineered to such an absurd degree that the role could have been performed by any Johnny Monologue.

Mr. Bay, not too surprisingly, misses this fairly minor criticism, gets butthurt, accuses Weaving for being ungrateful, and turns it into some first world problem nonsense.

Maybe Frank Welker maybe? If you don't want the high G1 voice, he can do the Prime deeper voice, just get Welker in there!

I've read the whole thing, Weaving never says anything negative about the franchise, only that he had no connection to it, he knew nothing about it and as such he wasn't invested in it.

Bay needs to quit skimming and actually read what's been said.

I make $45,000 a year with benefits as a teacher. I think that is a job that has meaning. And I'm not complaining. If Bay gave me $200,000 for voice work, I would throw in lawn work too.

My time to rant about egotistical directors. Do you hate directors that get paid a bunch of money and not even try to have a good story in a movie, but just sex, explosion repeat. Then they claim they worked so hard for the movie when in the first place the movie really did good because of the special effects, because if u take out the special effects boy the movie sucks.

I actually agree with Bay on this one.... but really, is Weaving even need in the next movie? How many god damn times does Megatron have to get killed only to return in the next movie? It's getting a little old.
