He couldn't direct a coffee comercial without involving the US military.

I... *shrugs* I don't have the energy to get angry over these things anymore.

It'll be a movie with a deeply flawed plot, some amazing special effects and wonderful action scenes. I'll still see it. I'm under no delusions about it. I sat through Energon, which was 52 episodes of stock footage and bad dubbing, which came after Armada, which was 52 episodes of bad animation and bad dubbing... I can sit through a two and a half hour action movie every few years. As flawed as those movies were, there are actual good things in them that made them enjoyable for me.

Is "different feel" not exactly what he said about DOTM?

    That's what I recall.

And as for 'all the major Decepticons are dead'. This is true. However there's nothing saying Starscream, in the movieverse, doesn't have the same immortal spark he has in other incarnations. Or the presence of Galvatron, Ratbat, Overlord, Jhiaxus or Straxus could occur to take over the leadership role. Hell even Sixshot would make a decent foe.

Besides, it's not like Decepticons got enough characterisation to care about them anyway? Who cares who they are? It's just another case of the Bumblebee and Prime Power Hour.

He promised DOTM would have a different feel, too. Never saw a more disapointing film in my life...

Look, all we ask are that there are more robots who get more screentime than the humans they're protecting, and get more character development too. Bay's got enough money to pull it off now that DOTM hit a billion dollars, so he better deliver "Bots vs Cons", and not "Bots and the US Army vs Cons".

    2. Villain(s) that the audience really want to spit on - suggest Bay watches Batman trilogy
    3. Enemies that seem like a genuine threat

You know I do not agree with most of the remarks on here, those three movies were great. Although I am tired of Sam Witwicky but that's just because I am annoyed and disgusted with that actor who plays him he is just way too impressed with his showing himself in films and videos thinking he has something special when you seen one you've seen them all unless his can do tricks which I am thinking it can't so you know. The only things I found with the last movie was how he made Optimus he turned him evil sort of in the end like a killing machine instead of the proud noble hero he is in the story line. Sentinel should have died because he was just an evil jerk who needed to be put down. But Megs offered him a truce, and the Optimus in the main Transformers lore would have accepted the truce. I also did not like the fact Ironhide was not mourned he and Optimus were supposed to be close and yet there was no emotion there... I still enjoyed the movies I just think Optimus needs to be portrayed as the noble hero he is not some whack job

You know, in the criminal justice system, it's usually "3 strikes and you're out." That policy has been around for a very long time for good reason. Too bad it doesn't apply to the Hollywood crime of repeatedly making bad films. Bay and Lucas would have been done years ago! Oh well, it will do the same, if not slightly better business at the box office, because the sheer number of mindless movie-going masses will always outnumber the fans that actually care about the name.

To be fair, DotM actually was different from RotF. Less goofing around and humor and the tone was definetly somewhere in the "we're actually trying here folks but we're saddled with Steven's hard-on for this Shia guy so we have to shoehorn him into the story somehow" range. At least in DotM, Sam's involvement was slightly less forced than it was in RotF.

Now that Shia isn't coming back, that's already a marked improvement over the previous three (tho' oddly, I'm bothered by Shia far more than the parents for some reason). So if Shia and co aren't coming back, and Epps possibly might be coming back (and we know the general is coming back for sure) then it seems like DotMs tone will continue on into the next one, minus Sam's growing into manhood and girl problems. What humans there are in the new flick will (hopefully) be more on track to folks who actually make sense to be in it.

Here's to hoping it's dramatically revealed that the Transformers are actually mutant turtles spawned in a New York sewer. :drunk
