Tell me about it. This point in Animated: Megatron makes a bunch of huge Omega Supremes and is taking over. This point in Beast Wars: Megatron warps the entire path of time. This point in Armada: Multi episode arc with a huge battle in space against Unicron. This point in Prime: They're still hunting relics like they were in season 1, yay!

This is a real shame...and unfortunately, Hasbro has no one to blame but themselves.

With movie product on the shelf, launching the Prime series so far in advance without any type of product support was bad news. Children want what they see (and so do many collectors), and going almost an entire season with no product was a ridiculous choice. After that, removing the First Edition toys and replacing them with another line completely lead to nothing but confusion and disgrace here on the boards...I can't imagine how kids felt describing items to their parents.

Running another season with mediocre molds, not releasing characters seen in the show, and flooding shelves with just Bumblebee and Optimus Prime is another movement leading to nothing but failure.

I think the show was great. You had me. I was hooked. I was a fan. Was it slow? Yes, but...it did feel like the story was going somewhere. The big thing though...even as a collector, I want the toys WHILE the show is on and running, not when the show goes into it's between-season hiatus. Mediocre molds and the price of plastic aside, the toyline just got crappier and crappier, and eventually, Hasbro drove me away as a fan. I still watch the show, but any product I buy regarding Prime is carefully selected. All these toys that have nothing to do with the show should never have been made. Armored suits for Cyberverse figures are fine if you are going to show how awesome the suit is in the show...but if not, why bother? Why not give kids what is featured...the characters that were designed FOR the show? So much money spent on designs...to not get a toy is near insulting.

This would be a real shame, as Transformers Prime was supposed to be the new ongoing series, and it really did feel like a lot of care went into the show...not just from the graphic artists, but the writers, voice actors, and any other participants.

I really hope that maybe this means just Ratchet and Dreadwing will no longer appear in the show, despite the fact that I like both characters. Maybe the show goes on, but their involvement does not. Maybe the show switches to this new Beast Hunters thing.

I had always hoped that much like how the movie toys improved from the first movie to Revenge of the Fallen...the Prime toys would have matured and improved moving on in years...giving us better versions of the iconic characters that were given poor toys like Ratchet and Airachnid.

    What a sad day.

Will wait for further proof before I fan rage. But 3 seasons was about what I expected this show to last so not a huge surprise for me either way.

Aw. It could have gone on so much longer...

There is ONE advantage to this, however. We get a SUPER EPIC season finale, with nothing held back, be it plot, action, or new stuff.

Technically it had a Season 4 (with one three-parter) and a Season 5 (with reruns of old episodes, I think).

I kind of saw this happening. They do all of these huge, AWESOME build-ups and potential story changers, just to have them end up as one-shots that don't really change anything. The series has a LOT of potential that they just don't seem to be capitalizing on. :(  With that said, I can honestly see it ending for good at season 3. Shame though...

I think its the end of Transformers Prime the cartoon series not the franchise. Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters will most likely be the continuing sequel series like Beast Machines to Beast Wars, or Energon to Armada.

I just suspect a rebrand to mark a new story arch (hence "Beast Hunters") rather than a reboot. Beast Wars to Beast Machines rather than Animated to Prime, or something.

"The show ran for two seasons with a total of 26 episodes (13 in each season). The first season begins shortly after the events of the third season of Beast Wars, and the second season begins immediately after the first season. The second season was subtitled Battle for the Spark." Beast Machine's wiki article.

This sounds eerily a lot like this situation. Would this mean the bots and cons trade in their vehicle modes for some animals for whatever reason?

Hmm this news is distressing. I really did like the show. Awesome graphics, good stories, relatively self contained but with an overall arc. It did lack numerous characters though. It was a bit limiting that way. The toys were great except for those ridiculous mech tech weapons. I just could not grow to love them but I understood it was for the kids. The worst thing about tf prime was the accessibility of the product. Not sure if it was hasbro's fault but it's damn near impossible to buy anything in the store. We're still on wave1 deluxe in canada and that's ridiculous.

However taking it all into perspective, tf prime would have gone on for 3 years starting in 2011 and ending in 2013. Compare that to G1 which was 3 years and beast wars was also 3 years too. Hence it has done well. Overall I don't mind a new show so long as we're in the same universe and continuity. What I dislike are reboots reimagings and alternate universes.

    final season of Prime?

What i dont understand, is, how Hasbro, will kill a line or show or excellent writing, just because a 3rd season comes up. I remember when i was so dissappointed when i only got to see 3 episodes of season 4 G1 cartoons, new intro and everything! and with out a word poof gone from the states. Sure we got some of the toys, but no show for them. Now Prime, which i thin is like g1 times 20, is now coming to an end to early. the writing is excellent, choice of robots is great, and the voice actors are awesome. if this show brings in money to the Hub network, first gen, second gen collectors are buying the toys... whats the problem, keep it going, if it aint broke dont kill it!

Even if the show ends I hope they continue the continuity.
Prime doesn't have a "We must save the world" episode every day so I don't feel like the show has run it's course.

To be real honest, I've quit getting too far into these TF shows lately, in fear of this. Actually, even comic shows barely make it passed two seasons anymore before they are cancelled and replaced.
