I was vaguely interested in this when I heard about it. After seeing this thread, I got super interested. And then I came to learn of the Amazon Jetwing, and I want that too. so in a span of 2 mins, I made a 300 buck decision...LOL

Not to mention, I will also be getting the MP10 OP if and when it becomes available Stateside.

My only concern with this figure is the chrome grill. It looks beautiful, but with the grill being the bottom of Optimus' feet in robot mode, how quickly is that chrome going to get scratched up. For those of you who have the original Buster Prime, do the edges of the feet extend below the grill so that the chrome isn't touching whatever surface he's standing on? Or is all of his weight directly on the chrome surface?

Nope! the chrome directly touches whatever surface it is placed on. I use post it notes under the feet to protect the chrome.

I've got both prime's Takara chromed the grills on- Tf1 and Buster. I've generally just put a tissue under their feet. I haven't had a problem.

I've contemplated getting this guy, but man, I really wish that they didn't chrome up the grill and visors, and just used silver paint instead. With silver paint, I could at least repaint any areas that got scratched up when posing the figure in bot mode. As much as I love the rest of the figure, I'll have to pass. I have too many other TF purchases this year.

I've got mine standing on a doilie, behind glass, in my cabinet. My wife got it autographed by Peter so you better believe my Buster Prime is strictly a display piece.

If I want to fiddle around with Leader Prime, that's what Hasbro's version is for...lol

As for Striker Prime, I'd love to have it...all I need is to plant a money tree and I'm set...

I thought about the trailer, but I could do without it, but it would certainly be icing on the cake. The DOTM gun and shield are in my list as Striker accessories.

(I've never quoted myself before, but it seemed necessary this time)

As stated by everyone else, the feet are fully chromed, but I have to say, I have both versions of the original Buster Prime plus the Premium Prime from the first movie and both stand on chromed feet and I've never had even the tiniest scratch. Granted I wouldn't play too much with these guys, but transforming and posing them has never led to any problems for me. I've got mine standing on glass so i dont even do the doile or tissue thing. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the chrome too much, it has held up really well for me.
