As much as I used to like both G1 molds, I have zero interest in them these days. My money is reserved for Masterpiece Soundwave. These nasty looking things are expensive tat in my opinion.

The cassettes on the other hand are pretty sweet. I do like my cassettes and would love some more for my G1 Soundwave and Blaster, but there is no chance I will be buying this set just for the tapes.

With all the batshit-crazy obscure releases Takara was doing earlier this year, this DOES seem weirdly likely. It's like they recently combed through the TF universe looking for the most out-of-left-field characters they could find.

So he went back to Cybertron and changed his form again. At least he doesn't look like that Botcon toy any more!

Yep, just saying that's it not outside the realm of possibility for eHobby to put out a G1 SG Optimus, given how many releases/redecos that mold's had since TF was born.

If you're in Japan, no, but if you live in the US, well, yeah you do need a membership if you want to get it at SRP. Otherwise it's off to secondary sellers for you.

I'm not so sure the exchange rate is an issue here. Since this set is being released through the TFCC, the cost should not be based on a Japanese SRP then adjusted based on exchange rates.

It would be nice if they release an original G1 version giftset with all the cassettes.

Eh, not really feeling it. SG Soundwave just doesn't evoke "Shattered Glass" for me. His color scheme, both the Botcon fig and this one, just isn't far enough removed from regular G1 SW's. Just a lot more white, a different shade of blue, and some neon green. And for some reason the Blaster mold just doesn't look that great in black.

I dunno, prior to Botcon, whenever I pictured SG Soundwave and Blaster, I always saw them in each other's G1 color schemes. SW done up in Blaster's red, gray/silver, and yellow, and Blaster done up in SW's dark blue and silver.

SG Soundwave was originally a repurposed Sonic White Device Label Soundwave that was unrelated to Shattered Glass.

    And Twincast is already blue.

I'm only sad there is no Overkill and Steeljaw... given, we HAVE gotten a black steeljaw. Hmmmm. They could still make him a bit different with his red and yellow paint apps and red wings. Crossing my fingers these might be a side set. I'd hate to have a PARTIAL set of Shattered Glass cassettes. :p
