Awesome. Any news on if this will match the size and style of the current Transformers Classics Marvel reprints? The issue count looks like it will be a little smaller, if this is released in February.

IDW are really trying to milk me for my Money. So far I have bought Cover A + Cover B + Dealer Incentive Cover for each issue.

I'll try to buy this from Amazon. As they offer free shipping on all orders over $25. This will probably have the Freebie issue inside the volume.

Announcing this so soon is hardly dispelling the 'wait for the trade' mentality held by comic buyers, is it?

What have we had, two issues? And a TPB is already up for pre-order!

Comic companies are forever grumbling that nobody's buying their comics and just waiting for the compilations - I don't think they're helping themselves here.

To be fair, almost ALL books get a trade nowadays, and it's not until February, which will be around issue 8. The trade will likely only have 80.5-84 plus the alt covers and maybe some sketches and interview..

I *really* want a Regeneration One trade that fits in at the end of the UK Collection, complete with (much more recent) retrospective from James Roberts.

Excellent, was looking forward to this hitting the trades. Given the page count and IDW's typical ass-load of covers for every issue, it's almost certainly 5 issues + extras, but that's about standard.

Speaking as someone who trade-waits, a company taking a long time to release a trade won't motivate me to buy the more expensive floppies - it's more likely I just won't purchase the story at all. To use a recent example, I was initially planning to get all four new-52 GL titles but, because DC's taken so long getting the first arcs out in TPB, I've lost interest and am dropping them. With IDW, Image and other companies that get the TPBs out quickly, buzz and excitement around the story is still fresh in my mind and getting the TPB is more of a priority. After all, they still make money on the compilations.
