I was more meaning that 'fresh' smell that hits you when the seal is broken for the first time, that goes away after a few minutes. There's gotta be different types of rubber though, right? Those really soft ones, or the thicker more substantial kind, and the ones that are so hard they almost do feel like plastic anyway. I think the only bad experience I've had is with the soft type, after being stored away for decades, perishing in storage and then just breaking up when handled. Looked like they almost melted even though there was no excess heat. That wasn't on a TF though, and as far as I know none of my 25+ year old TF tyres have spoiled. There's barely any wear and tear at all in fact...

Gee, they want me to pay a Masterpiece price to get a deluxe-size toy. No thanks Takara.

nice, a little smallish- but that MP-12 Lambor is so bought. :D

yup this. Hasbro's MP-10 Op Prime is a great example of that situation happening again. So either the guys who always say they would much rather wait' for a Hasbro version down the line need to just shut up and buy it now, or will miss out completely. Price is not an issue for me, so yeah....

    Love this guy sooooo much!

It helps that he was one of the only 84 deluxe cars that I ever had. I only had Bluestreak, Sideswipe, and Ratchet so of course I'm crossing my fingers for the others to get the MP treatment as well.:D

Comparing my Universe Swideswipe to my MP10, and looking at the stock photos in the MP14 thread.....i think the difference in height between the two is all of half a head.

I am actually kinda surprised by all the complaining about his size and price, given what we know about the MP line, though I shouldn't be. The MP line is a niche line for collectors. TT will never make the money on the MP line that they make on the main line figures. We have to pay a higher price for for TT to make a profit/deem it worth continuing. The price also reflects the fact they had to pay for the Lamborghini license. I can't even count the number of time people complained about the alt modes for Transformers being "fake" cars. People have been begging for years to get real licensed cars for our favorite Transformers. Do people actually think they are going to get car licenses and not have to pay for it? TT has decided to really devote their attention to the MP line. Instead of just throwing out a couple figures and lots of repaint, we are starting to get a thoughtful progression in the line. When this line started we only got a couple figures a year. They have rebooted the line, putting the bots in scale with each other. I know the scale sheet for all the bots and cons has been floating around here awhile. These new figures in the MP line are spot on for scale. They are looking at how will these figures look displayed together. They are trying to give us faithful recreations of the cartoon to put on our shelves. I for one will fully support this line and hope it continues.

That's actually good news for me, because it means there are two shelves he can occupy. Tweener sizes are the best.

this and well said! If ever there was a line I would fully concentrate on collecting, and not buy anything else then this new MP-reboot line would be it. :D

^ Totally agree, the MP line and the odd 3rd party figure is about all I'm interested in now.

Nothing new. People want items directed at 'serious collectors' but at kids toys prices.

Not sure if anyone notice the windshield window, while in robot mode, is transparent. But it is totally black out when in car mode...Any reason?

Yea, Hasbro MP-10 is a steal at the revealed price, but I know it's going to be a bitch to find for the aforementioned reasons. When you factor them as well as the amount of gas, time, and money invested in trying to locate one at retail, settling for the Takara version doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

Assuming the robot and vehicle photos are of the same figure, I suppose it's for the same reason regular windows appear opaque during the day and transparent at night. It's a physics thing.
