Today's sneak peak at the upcoming Toys R Us China Import assortment is Generations Protectobot Hot Spot! Hot Spot is a remold of Universe 2.0 Inferno with a new head and also Grapple's altered shoulders, so he can take 3mm clip weapons on his shoulders! Hot Spot is an awesome remold. A perfect shade of blue recalls the original's sky blue deco, while the new head is full of personality. It takes a few liberties with Hot Spot's faceplate, but the end effect is worth it. Like Inferno, this mold exchanges the Generation 1 original's ladder for a water cannon, which is slung under the arm in robot mode. This though seems like less of a departure than it was on Inferno, probably because the original Hot Spot carried twin black rifles. Hot Spot is a great figure and well worth picking up, either when online retailers get their stock in or when he hits Toys R Us later in the year.
