Masterpiece Optimus Prime out in Hong Kong, picked one up yesterday :)

Totally slipped my mind to take a picture of their display, but they're really pushing it, had about 30-40 MP Primes on mass display at a TRU near where I stayed there.

    edit:
Took a picture of the bottom. Noticed this might not be the exact US box, since it has Hasbro Australia printed at the bottom. Also, made in Vietnam? Wow, didn't realize Hasbro was making toys in Vietnam and not in China already.

Does seem like other areas in Asia might be getting theirs soon if the sticker is any indication.

That's a huge display for a mp fig

I'm really starting to think it looks a little better than the Takara version

    About $140

I know! I heard they released it so I was looking around at the shelves, thinking, where the heck are they, hope they haven't sold out yet and then turning out into the main aisle..BAM..there it was, a huge pile of MPs! :lol

Anyway, if anyone wants pictures of a particular section of the packaging, I'd be happy to post them.

In fairness though, as far as I know, this TRU branch is one of their most popular ones. Located in a popular tourist as well as local shopping area. Also, I dunno, but you can probably have one shipped cheaper :)  Patience though, since the US will be getting it at a much lower price.

Thanks for the heads-up! I read on AC-Toys ( I can't access AC-Toys now) that there is a QC issues with regards to his gray part of his headpiece (a slight chip) above his eyes. Apparently there are two batches: 1 batch made in China while the other made in Vietnam, and his was made in China. Any issues with yours? thanks again :)  Intending to get mine as well when it hits my country too

Ultra Magnus. It is to you, old friend, that I shall pass the Matrix of Leadership, as it was... passed to me.

Couldn't resist :lol  back to the topic at hand though.

Doesn't seem to have any issues as you can see from the pic.

^That is one of the nicest G1 Prime heads I've seen in a long time. Hasbro did it right for once! The blue color head + eye color really is spot on to cartoon. Love it!

Thanks Star Saber! Hopefully the ones that hit Singapore will be the good quality ones too :)

If I can access the link for the QC issues on AC-Toys, I will post it here too, just for information...

EDIT: the only picture I could find (seems that it was made in vietnam for this one)

I know right? It's quite awesome! The proportions of this one compared to MP1 also gives it a more heroic look. If there's one thing I wish they could have done better, it's the gray plastic on the legs, wished it looked more metallic, like they did the faceplate.

You're welcome :)  This is actually my first news post (news credit? :D ) Never seem to be at the right place/right time until yesterday.

Ouch, that's a nasty dent. I'm a stickler for those sort of things though, made sure to look mine over a couple of times, before I went to the checkout counter :)  Looked over a couple of others too, didn't seem to have any problems.

Damn, for a second I got surprise until you said couldn't resist. I knew it was too good to be true. Oh well, still waiting for my boy to get released some days, LOL. Back on Hasbro Prime, wow, that thing is marvelous! I really want one, but with a limited of space....hm, what to do....

Man it looks nice! The eyes being painted blue just bring so much more life to the figure.
I ordered one from Hong Kong earlier in the week. Just checked the tracking details and it has arrived in the country, should see it Monday :)  Man I hope mine doesn't have that QC problem otherwise I will be mighty pissed!

Hasbro Australia info on a box is nothing new, or even that uncommon, even SDCC Cliffjumper has Hasbro Australia info on the box.

As recently as FOC Wave 1, Hasbro are still using Chinese factories.
Cyberverse figures all appear to be made in Vietnam these days.
