This is also a little amusing because someone on the recent AM Swerve picture thread said they'd repurpose him as First Aid, now we see a similar head on an Ambulance altmode.

That immediately raises two points though:

1. The headsculpt's resemblence to AM Swerve's is debatable - quite literally - as we see in this thread.

2. My remark is a moot point, particularly if I go with the admittedly unfounded possibility that Hasbro has decided not to follow through with this Deluxe retool and Takara ran with it for Swerve. Perhaps if the Deluxe was to be Swerve the deco was considered too close to Ratchet's. Maybe it wasn't Swerve. Perhaps it was and still will be, as far as it being something that gets released.

Mother of God.

I'd buy that. It is the year of the Swerve.

Hard to say for sure from the fuzzy photos, but to me it looks like one is probably based on the other, (presumably the Ratchet alt head was first) but they are not completely identical sculpts at different scales.

Now I wonder when/if Hasbro releases the other-head Ratchet toy, what name it will be given.

if they had no intention of releasing him why did they show him off!
It was Takara that showed it, not Hasbro. That's where MP Sideswipe was first seen too.

RID ratchet would be the best mold IMO so far. THe Kup generations retool doesnt really look like Swerve, the voyager breakdown is a great mold but kind of fucking HUGE for swerve... If Ratchet becomes a swerve mold it would be bought for me.

It's Prime Swerve, not G1 Swerve, so size isn't really an issue.

the head mold on the Ratchet instructions looks more like Deadend to me, but then it could just be my eyesight failing me.

there isnt really such a thing as Prime swerve as far as i see it. Not a character in the show, nor the comics. He's not really a huge player in g1, and the most characterization he's gotten (that i've seen) is in the comics. Just because a redeco of him is being released as a japanese exclusive doesnt really warrant a voyager sized minicon (though, in fairness, how would he look alongside MP-10, i wonder? acceptable minicon size perhaps? i dont own any MP figs so...) Same problem i have with FE BUlkhead mold Brawn- cool- its brawn, but he's HUGE for a guy that is either a minicon in g1 or a squat 'scout-sized' angry in IDW comics.

For me, all swerves are IDW swerve, and i personally wouldnt pay 65 bucks to ship a japanese voyager overseas where it will look completely out of place on my very small RID/MTMTE collection (which are currently all deluxes).
