Muted is an acceptable degree of artistic license, acknowledging the expressivity and ephemerality of "life" (and it's absence) as a stylistic choice. But grey is too much, I think. Like, when you die, all the pigments in your paint finish spontaneously dissolve? I don't buy it.

Yeah, never been much of a fan of turning grey means you're dead. I can live with muted because, like you said, it's really just artistic flare.

Yep, it is a mask, as said by Milne himself on his deviantArt. Which means it wouldn't be wise to speculate on his identity based on his appearance.

Looking back in #6 the panel which shows Rung being shot only shows the remains of his head aflame. Also...no mention of a funeral was ever mentioned by Rodimus or anyone else. Only that a speech regarding Rung and that it was nice.

Could have referred to a status update given by Rodimus regarding the hostage situation, how it ended, and well wishes for their resident psychotherapist as he struggled for recovery.

Oh and...another Rung fan. Glad to see there are quite a few.

WE ARE LEGION! Rung obviously had a much better initial reaction from readers than Drift. It proves that a writer's fan character can be a great addition to the cast if they're handled well.
