Why does HMS do this, have Grimlock speak like he just came out of the G1 cartoon? We heard Matt say several times how the G1 cartoon Grimlock was unlikeable and how they didn't want him to sound stupid in this new incarnation of him, and yet here they are making him sound like he did in the '80s

Because it's an ad designed to catch the eye of the casual fan, and that's how most people think of him speaking.

because that is how he has always spoke. Never mind the cartoon GRIMMY.. read the comics.
