TFW Fall of Cybertron Jazz Gallery

You might have heard that the first assortment of the new Generations Fall of Cybertron toys has begun to hit retail in Asia - consisting of Optimus Prime, Shockwave and Autobot Jazz as they appear in the new game from High Moon Studios. Well, luck was on my side because I've got all three of the new toys in hand! Since fellow fans have focused a lot of love on Optimus and Shockwave so far, I thought I'd start with a look at the underdog of the assortment, Jazz.

Fall of Cybertron Jazz is a rather cool little design. There's no escaping that he is a bit smaller than other toys from the not too-distant past, but fortunately he still scales relatively well against the War for Cybertron Deluxes from Generations (though Bumblebee was big even for that assortment).

He's a nicely poseable figure - waist articulation would have been nice though and the ankles are a little restricted, but you can still get some decent poses out of Jazz. My only real gripe is the head sits down inside the chest a bit, when it could have perhaps been a little higher. Transformation is interesting and the resulting car mode is very much a "Jazz" alternate mode, sleek and very sporty looking, though the hands exposed at the back might be a sore point.

All in all, Jazz is not bad at all - certainly worth a look once he hits retail. I fear he'll be divisive like Knock Out or some of the other toys of recent memory that have fallen into the "you have to get it to love it" category, but overall, still worth a look. He's fun and I'll be getting the Sideswipe version too.

Yup I'm sold on this. The small legs will take some getting used to but I honestly like the rest of the figure. Lovin' the car mode btw.

Knowing that blue is my favorite color, this is also a plus for me.

i'm not a fan of the blue plastic on this figure, also i think this figure (all 3 on the wave really) are in dire need of some paint apps... i might see what reprolabels comes up with before seeking this figure out.

Honestly, I really dig it. I can't wait for TFSource to get their stock in. The skinny-jeans on this dude isn't the greatest look for him though, and the feet may be a tad too small, but I'm willing to look past it.

I'm still in the wait and see mode. The size and lack of paint apps makes me hesitate.

Is it possible to make his chest bumper on him flatter like sideswipes?

I will definitely be getting him, but it's hard to be impressed with the RTS one out there. At least this guy can be a decent cybertronian Jazz.

He looks ok. I'll probably get him and call him Searchlight, to have an excuse to have him with my classics
