Smaller toys, higher price. I'll just buy them at Walmart for $12.88 and move on.

Is it possible Hasbro aren't passing the hike onto Walmart, or that WM will just absorb it?

Walmart will just absorb it. They are the king of the 'loss leader'.

Maybe they would sell more and make money if they would STOP WITH ALL THE FUCKING BUMBLEBEES THAT DON'T SELL AND LISTEN TO THE FANS then we wouldn't have this price increase ( and stop with pointless redecoes in there Marvel Movie lines, I still can't believe they haven't learned those are shelfwarming as badly as BBs)

Perhaps the plethora of repaints and emphasis on certain characters are part of Hasbro's response to Warlmarts refusal to pay more when costs are going up and shareholders want more revenue.

Listen to the fans? Pretty sure way of reducing profits.

I don't know about you, but I don't see a Bumblebee in this assortment.

Not surprised. We've been spoiled with cheap deluxes for far too long. If anything, this will benefit me as I'll need to be smarter with my money now and get the figures I only REALLY want. Plus, I've still got a backlog of older figures I want, so I guess I can concentrate on that instead.

Welcome to the rest of the world. Down here it's $20 for a dlx. Lucky for me I don't collect deluxe figures as a general rule of thumb. Regardless of scale, I just buy the best Voyager/leader that represents that character and be done with it.

I expect to see the prices increase at Walmart as well. Remember, MSRP on deluxe's right now is only $11.99, Walmart is at $12.88. When Hasbro raises the MSRP to $14.99 Walmart will have to follow.

Going to have to agree with this one. We in the U.S.A. have had it far too easy compared to the rest of the regions, and with that we've gotten far to spoiled. It's not like Hasbro is holding a gun to your head with Transformers. Either buy it, or don't.

People have no patience for clearance sales, I tellz ya. I rarely buy common releases at original retail anymore.

Only the shortpacked or rare stuff get's bought for retail.

Awww, I thought I would get in before the snarky ass response from somone in Europe that always does a 1:1 conversion of their prices, when they really pay less than us.

Sadly that seems to be less and less of an occurrence where I'm at. Those damn DOTM voyager figures need to go.

    I pre ordered a case.

I just did not complain about the price although I should.

$16.50 per figure after shipping is a little high.

It's not being spoiled, and it's not "Welcome to the rest of the world".

Transformers are primarily a US and Japanese product. A bit of Asia too. Guess where they're the cheapest at? When a retailer like AmiAmi sells the AM figures at 1460 Y for the deluxes, which is roughly $18, are you guys going to whine and piss and moan about how their price is cheaper than Europe or wherever too? If Transformers are too expensive for you, in your country, that's too bad for you. Move to the US or Japan. Otherwise, that's the cost of living where you do. I am sorry that you live in Europe, but that's the price of living in a place that has to basically import every single thing it sells.

Furthermore, according to inflation, $10 in 1998, they heyday of the start of the $10 Deluxe, is $14.10. Which is about a $1 over the new $15 price point. I couldn't care less about what price they are in "your country" because its "your country" not the US, but according to inflation, a scientific basis of measurement that is relevant to the country I am in, its TOO MUCH. Especially since the figures seem to be getting smaller. (I didn't believe it before, but with how tiny Airachnid is...)
