I don't undertand why this type of discussion always turns this direction. WE KNOW. It sucks to live in other countries and import products. This thread isn't about that. It's merely reposting information posted by BBTS.
Please don't ever complain about the death of a particular line of toys.

    The price hike is understandable.

But not when the toys are getting worse for wear in design and paint. $15 for FOC Jazz is pathetic. We get things like Airachnid with about zero redeeming qualities.

It's less if you preorder the whole case.

BBTS has been doing that a lot lately, likely because they don't want to get stuck with older figures.

yeah, I don't like the other 2 figures but paying an extra $15 for 3 more figures (albeit Prime x 2) sounds like the way to go and sell off those 3 figures. But again Brighticus is not a must buy so if I see them at Target or Walmart then will get them otherwise will just pass.

This, the price of toys goes up, so what life goes on. I don't care if the prices go up, all that means is I just have save up more money and buy the figures I want.

First off, telling someone to move to a different country because of toy prices is a highly unrealistic expectation of someone just so they can get cheaper toys.

Second, it's more than just inflation that dictates the prices, as there are a sheer number of factors that effect the pricing (such as the price of oil, factory costs, parts count, demand, and various other economic factors) and how much we have to pay. I'm sorry if you saw that as pissing and moaning, as that was far from my intention. The point I was trying to make is that if people don't like the price increase, then honestly don't pay it. No one is forcing people to continue buying products, and honestly I'd rather see people buying stuff happily because they want the toys regardless of the price, then people constantly complaining and buying it regardless.

Or even be more selective about what you buy. I learned a hard as hell lesson with Revenge of the Fallen by trying to being a complete moron and attempting to be a character completist, and I'm glad I got that out of my system before the price increases started. Nowadays I'll just buy toys of characters that I like and shit that looks cool. And Bumblebees, because I have a horrible, horrible problem.

People in other countries can call us out and say whatever, but I'm pretty sure if prices go up here, they're going up everywhere.

No matter what, price hikes suck even when they are totally explainable, and this is a transformer fan forum so try to have a little empathy for fellow collectors. I'm never like, "yeah you crazy Australians you pay twice as much that's what you get for being in the wrong place"- it's just asinine.

I just wish the quality was staying consistant.

With all of the complaints coming about and with the way Hasbro and retailers have been handling distribution I wouldn't be surprised if the Transformers line came to a screeching halt, or at the least for us Americans anytime soon.

That's my beef with it. I'd gladly pay $16 for a deluxe in the past but now that quality has drastically decreased, I have a hard time rationalizing it. People can compare current toys to RiD deluxes (The REAL RiD, not Prime) all they want, and though Deluxes have varied in size over the past ten years at least the old toys felt like they'd last for quite awhile if a kid played with it, not break if you looked at it cross eyed.

Yeah, I really don't mind spending more, and that's why I'm good with getting a Takara version of something if I think it looks better, and why I'm ok with getting the Voyager sized MP Sideswipe for $80. So when I hear HasTak investing in the design of a deluxe... whoever, let's just say Slag, I just won't be that excited because the deluxe class doesn't offer what it used to.

Whoever has that "sucks to be you for living somewhere where you pay more" mentality is nuts. If you're telling someone to move somewhere just so they can buy cheaper toys, you're insane.

That's what sales are for. I stopped buying Deluxes at retail pricing a couple of years ago. Kind of a bummer waiting for sales or finding things second-hand through the forums to get the stuff you want, but I save more in the long run. It was my response when prices went over $15 here in Canada... my own little protest.

That was a hyperbolic example. My point was simply this- when something is bad, especiallly about toys on a toy forum, it's ok to be empathetic and not "well that's what you deserve" and "you've had it easy so shut up about it", which is the attitude us cheapy Americans hear all the time.

But to be fair, there are a lot of cheap people, it's just not specific to any country. I can afford some higher costs, but there are poeple who have to change their collecting habits becuase of price increases and no matter where you are from, that's too bad.

Random question I don't know the answer to though - is Hasbro's distribution any better than that of their competitors?

I look around at Walmart and everything else seems to have just as limited distribution. Just saying.
