you know I saw that and i knew there was something "different" with the chest...it looks way cool....but the added ports still kills it especially the door ports, for me at least....

Very high chances that Sideswipe will be repainted OR retooled into Red Alert,anytime,as long as TakaraTomy boss just give the nod

 

I still absolutely hate the thought of Prime bodies being used for this line.

 

Red Alert doesn't bother me as much as sunstreaker would. Fact is, Red Alert was just a repaint in the Cartoons and in the toy line. It will need minimal retooling and would be fine.

TBH, I am surprised that they went with Sideswipe instead of Prowl. Prowl's mode could have been used at least 3 times.

 

No worries,TakaraTomy will have plenty of chances to use Sideswipe mold over & over again

Well, I figure one we know for sure would be Red Alert.

Then there will be some EHobby repaints. I am thinking at least 2. But not sure what else.

 

I reckon he'll be next on the car list.....easy money on 3 characters with just a repaint. Licensing issues not a problem I would imagine either. A Masterpiece Fairlady 280zx Prowl will be fucking fantastic.

Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen in that order please HasTak.

 

Well I would expect some retooling on them at least their heads and car bumpers.

 

Deep Cover & Clampdown will be in their radar.

 

Sideswipe was probably a very deliberate choice. possible reasons being they thought a Countach was the most memorable/desirable alt mode of the 1984 cars for which they could get licensing.

Sideswipe over Sunstreaker may have been informed by it being relativley easy to design compared to Sunstreaker, or the fact that Sunstreaker wasn't released singularly in Japan.

 

Yup, the 2 ehobby repaints I was thinking. I think that is where it ends though.

 

We shall wait patiently for TakaraTomy to get the Nissan license since they can obtain that for the Alternity series for Convoy & Megatron

I dunno, Sunstreaker's transformation/design is probably just as simple as Sideswipe. I'm thinking it's more of a popularity thing or maybe they are gonna be hoping movie fans will recognise the name and be curious.
