Yes it does. I really hope there's a really nice alt mode paint job.

Is Masterpiece Sideswipe standing near MP-01 or MP-10? If it were MP-10 I hope that's not what Soundwave size is going to be if that is MP-13.

Soundwave will be around MP-10 height, I'm 99% sure of it.

A lot of you seem to be really confusing "height" with "scale". Up until now the MPs have had 2 rough "heights" but those 2 "heights" have been out of scale with each other.

Takara's plan from MP-10 onwards (though you could argue it started with MP-8 and includes the seeker moulds) is to have an MP line that's in "scale". Guess what? That means a car is going to be smaller than a truck - not only because that's a real-life fact but also because of the cartoon AND, and this is something that Takara have looked to in the past, because of the original Diaclone figures.

Personally I figured MP-12's size was always going to be around this height, ever since that interview with the designer of MP-10 said he wanted to have a line-up of MPs that were in scale with each other. I think it's an almost perfect size. :)

I might be the only one who thinks this, but if the new MP Autobot cars are going to be both:

A: Proper replicas of their 1984 G1 Alt modes

B: About the same size as the Alternators

then I couldn't be happier. Welcome back Alternators. We missed you. :D

They'll be smaller than Alts in car mode. The Countach is a pretty wide car if I remember correctly, yet it's not as wide as MP-10's torso. The Alt Prowl shown, which has a fairly standard car alt-mode, does look to be wider.

My guess is around the 1/28-1/30 scale. I'd have preferred 1/32 to fit in with Alternity but that's just me...

Ironically enough at 1/30 they are pretty much in perfect vehicle mode scale with MP-01!!

Might seem silly, but unless I'm being optically tricked here, I'm really liking Knockout's remolded chest. Might be the one time where the Micron ports in themselves add something good. :)

Also, I definitely don't mind Sideswipe being smaller, at all.

still hoping that sideswipe is in scale with alternities so he can fit in mp-10's trailer.

Really digging his look so far, I have no qualms with picking it up, would definitely also buy a g2 repaint.

And, more importantly, can be carried by the eventual MP Ultra Magnus. :)

I am very impressed with Breakdown if that is his final colors. And to sweeten the deal, the Arms Micron looks totally rad.
Will be pre-ordering that for sure.

As for the Vehicon, his Arms Micron looks a tad too big. I will just settle for the Hasbro version.

    Ebay:
Facepalm all you want, But Hasbro & Takara have a history of doing such a thing. A G1 accurate Sunstreaker would almost be impossible to make as a Masterpiece, due to the roof of the car being his entire torso. The cartoon faked a torso and hips where the toy had none. Going with a slightly modified Sideswipe into Sunstreaker, like the VERY POPULAR Classics and Alternators versions, there is enough mass to make a decent figure. As a Sunstreaker fan, I would much rather have the figure in some form, rather than not have him at all. So if by the slimmest of chances Takara doesn't do it, I'm sure a third party will.

I totally agree with you, but watch out, coz the opinion police are slapping anyone who makes financial sense. Very few single characters make sense to make as an expensive collectors toy. Takara & Hasbro have to keep the line profitable, which means for every Megatron, Grimlock, and Rodimus, there has to be 23 Primes, 32 Starscreams, etc... Sideswipe or Prowl have the best options of being converted into multiple characters with minimal retooling, so it makes sense to expect Sunstreaker, Red Alert out of Sideswipe. Yes, in G1, the twins were not identical twins, but that doesn't with a little retooling, they won't be in Masterpieces either.

Not really. Transformers fanatics have stupidly bought tons of crap merely because it had a name on it, since the dawn of the brand. Takara and Hasbro are banking on that continuing for quite some time, I am sure. So for the few fanboys that say "NAY, Takara! I rebuke thee!" there will be 30,000 that will be storming the stores, tossing $120+ on the counters or virtual shopping carts, demanding the toy to be in their fat, sweaty fingers.

I'm sure they will do Red Alert too. But Sunstreaker has quite the fanbase, and I don't see them passing up the opportunity. Like I said before, swivel the head and switch the arms out, and add a way to turn the roof to face downwards, and it looks enough like Sunstreaker to satisfy 80% of the fanbase. As for Trailbreaker et al, I wasn't aware they were the Gods of Opinion, and anyone with other views must bow to them... He stated his opinion, and is slapping himself for whatever value that gives him, and I will just accept his opinion as just that, HIS OPINION, and continue to state mine, no matter how many complain.

Toy companies make money by saving money. There is a proven history of it. There is also a proven history of Transformers fans going gaga over buying the same thing over and over again...

I will now give up trying to explain what a high-end japanese adult collectible is... it's not my opinion, it's how it works, japanese high end collectibles have to strive for accuracy. ppl are paying premium prices, they demand accuracy. japanese collectors will not buy a figure if it's pose is not accurate to the original. I kkep hearing name calling and condescending tones from ppl who say hasbro has a history of doing repaints, but have not provided a single fact to prove this happens in the high-end, as accurate as possible MP line. as I said twice now, in japan ultra magnus was always a white convoy anda figure having little kibble here and there is in no way the same as having a figure depicted with an entirely different mode. it seems to me that ppl think the MP line is just the same as any mass produced general public line. I'm tired of repeating myself so that someone else just dismisses my opinion as stupid bc they think theirs is more valid

You're preaching to the choir for the most part man, it's seemingly a small number of ppl who would be happy for a Sunstreaker repaint.
