And the fact that Cybertron's look had no continuity from movie to movie also bugged me. The whole honeycomb-hexagonal framework around the planet was just weird and "off". But then again, in ROTF Jetfire was an old Scottish guy and definitely not red & white. Amongst a million other things that were "off" about the movies. So..... anything goes? ![]() |

No, I'm gonna go old school and say that the Cybertron we see in the opening sequences of the G1 toon is pretty damn close to perfect. The geodesic look may be more clean, 'computery', and movie-like, but it looks nothing like the version of Cybertron I feel approaches true reality. Now this kind of redo makes more sense. If you consider that Jetfire and Starscream were once ally scientists working together it stands to reason that hey may have gone Decepticon when his buddy did and may have spent time in that faction. Also, Jetfire spends the first 15 min of his G1 reveal episode unwittingly fighting against the Autobots, so further evidence of possible faction swapping. I won't touch very much on the Scottish thing as I'm not sure where that came from other than contrast for its own sake, but the faction swapping and change of character model actual made quite a bit of sense to me. |
