Whilst this is not final confirmation of a UK release of MP-10 Optimus Prime, at least Hasbro UK say that they are hoping to release it this Winter. I emailed them last week and they sent the following vague response!

Good news. I'd rather get it from the US for cheaper mind. No doubt it'll be another TRU exclusive here too.

Get ready for pricey Toys R Us exclusive! Eh, might be tempted if the £££ is not too outrageous... Far more excited about getting our filthy British mits on MP Sideswipe someday.

Yep definitely interested. Just hoping that $100 doesn't equal £100 like normal with Hasbro!

So anybody still waiting for MP Grimlock's price to be slashed?

The fact the representative doesn't even seem that aware of it being a TRU exclusive doesn't say much.. Roddy and Grimlock both being TRU exclusive in Europe as well.

Or maybe if they think people aren't going to pay 100GBP, or closer to it they just wont bother.

Exact exchange rate (62.00) is impossible, and even at 70-75.00 they're not going to sell that many.

Is there anybody reading who wants to cite the Skywarp incident as some sort of precedent for picking this up at a knock down price?

*IF* I were in TRU UKs shoes, i'd order a small amount and sit on them at full price, or near it, until they're gone. There won't be a better version of it any time soon, and nobody else is going to be selling it.

Unless you want to pay extra for the Takara version that is.

I reckon it's nailed on for £100, hope I'm wrong but I can't see it selling too well at that either....Grimlock and Roddy are both still sat at my local TRU at £60 so I can't see Prime selling well at nearly double that.

I don't think it's impossible, just highly highly unlikely. I've pretty much talked myself into swapping out MP01 for this I just need to see it in person and then it's a case of whether I think it really is worth the price it does come out at. Daft thing is the trailer will most likely never leave the packing.

Sideswipe on the other hand is an instant buy.

went into my local tru to pick up a grimlock as they were shelf warming still a couple of months ago and they only had one rodimus prime left , i asked them to check if they had any grimlocks in the store room and when he checked the computer both rodimus and grimlock had been marked as discontinued

I know mate but I don't like owning multiples of any character, I couldn't put the original back in his box and chuck him in the attic. I dunno.... decisions decisions.

You reckon we'll have another Fort Max on our hands in 20 years?

They said at the time that MP-01 was no expense spared, and it still shows (no screwholes, electronics, diecast, etc). Too bad that the full MP-04 was half-arsed (why no Roller??), and even MP-10 still lacks the turning wheels on Roller from the THS-02 version.

MP04 is the finest toy in my collection, bar none. And I have mostly MP's so that says a lot. MP09 v2 is very nice, but MP04 just has so much presence and a quality feel.

Good news. I've admired MP10 from afar but the cost was always my deciding factor in not buying the figure.

Rodimus retailed in the US for $10 more than the numerical British equivalent. If that's a precedent we could be looking at the £90 mark.

Except you'll be bollocked by Britain's import tax. Cheaper to buy it at retail.

I agree but it's just too tempting. MP-01 will never be beaten for quality or sheer 'wow' factor, so this one shouldnt even come close but the more accurate alt-mode, updated aesthetic is reeling me in......it's a problem alright!

Good to hear the UK people might get it domestically. That sucker would be a pain to import after all, given shipping weight escalating the cost.
