It's coming across a lot brighter in those images than when I saw it in person at Botcon.

I can see that - glossy contrasty paint PLUS camera flash.
Shop smart, Shop S-Mart.

Here's the picture I took with my $89 Kodak -no flash.
There's certain to be better pictures on the board here somewhere.

That green and yellow just radiate any ambient light that's near.

First awesome picture I've ever seen of this thing.

I don't know why Hasbro keeps using that oddly proportioned shot for all their promos where it looks like the camera is below the figure.

If it is the same price as the retail one or less, I will probably go this route if there is no difference in colors. Not sure how many of this figure I will need.
Wants: Botcon Grimlock, Dreadwing, Animated EG Prowl, Henkei BB, Smokescreen, Mirage, Sunstreaker

Yeah, it's like they're trying to make it look like he's a giant and he's towering over you, but the angle, the bright colors, and the Photoshop all detract from the toy.

It's sad that my picture with my crappy camera looks better.
You can actually see that Bruticus' face is pretty cool looking.

I'm starting to warm up to Neon-Bruticus' colors, if I can't buy the SDCC one, I guess I'll buy this one instead.

Agreed, I actually feel like I've got to see the figure properly, finally. A hell of an improvement over those awful promotional images!

What really strikes me about the figure now is how much better the torso looks in that photo - it looks much beefier and better proportioned than in the promo shots. I'm still 50/50 on the arms, but there's bound to be plenty of alternate transformation options to tweak them when we get it in hand.

Anticipation level increased!
