Remind me why someone would want to buy this if you can just take a scrap of green felt, cotton or some such material and make your own while also making it ridiculously long and awesome?

    Boom.

They're not worth $50, just goes to show you how insane some people in the fandom are. They're not even worth $5. Go to your local fabrics store and get something nice, that you think is cool for, what, twenty-five cents?

Look, I understand that at the end of the day... business is business... but it's just bad precedent to go out there and make a second run of this product. Everyone knows my opinion the item itself, so I'm not going to waste anyone's time and talk about that. What's happening now is that FP is going against their own policy of keeping souveniers special. If you guys made 100 special plates, wouldn't you think that people would get upset if you made more after the few at Botcon bought theirs? If you don't care, then I guess people don't really have to go to Botcon itself to buy these things if you're just going to remake everything anyway. It's not like you guys keep reprinting those lithographs right? Right?

These were never intended to be a certain run amount. Maybe the sales sheet should have been worded differently. This is the number we could get done before the show...

Had the demand been met, we prob would not be running more, but we clearly need to...

The thing should have come with the figure. There's your run amount.

The abysmal quality of the headband aside (I own one via the show and yes, it isn't a very good product), a clear cut production run should have been 1:1 with the number of SG Soundwave figures produced. That way everyone who ordered the boxset/bagged set, via the show or Iacon packages would have no problem getting one if they chose to get one.

Sarcasm is the only response. Somehow this thread became a cesspit.

Just don't buy the fucking thing. Five dollars is like three sodas. The headband was crappy, fine, overpriced, fine, there was apparently some free one that everyone (or hardly anyone) knew about, fine. But it has a negative impact on my experience here when everybody flings shit at Pete and the club no matter what the hell they do. It's your right to fling shit, but then it's my right to complain about the smell.

If the headband is so crappy then it inherently makes no sense to compare it to a figure or a litho, but you figured out a way to get angry about it if you did, so that's what you did.

Embarrassing yourself is a poor and ineffective way to offer feedback.

They got their connection (FP) and got hooked up quite nicely i must say....

and like said earlier probably will make a 20 to 25K profit off the 200 + sets that one dealer bought that saturday...

I'd rather have FunPub re-issue these through their store than scalpers making hella profit. If people want to buy it, let them.

Until they hit a production run of 1800 headbands, I don't think it counts as making the exclusives less special, because they're just providing the accessory for the toys that are already out there. From the POV of the people who can't live without a 100% complete set, it's not fair to have the toy but not be able to have the part that goes with it because enough of them weren't made in the first place.

I agree, more or less...everyone's getting pissed at FunPub, when the anger should be directed at the fans desperate to pay good money for a cheap rubber headband. FunPub made a product, it has high demand, and they're making more to meet that demand...nothing there is a crime. Sure the product is very crappy and not worth even the original $5, but they didn't put a gun to anyone's head to buy the thing.

There's no incentive to make a quality product if a cheap one sells just as well. The fault is with the fandom for slavishly buying the cheap product instead of demanding better.

My issue isn't with the headband necessarily, more with the fact they allowed dealers to buy tons of product that left other fans without means to purchase some (most) of the exclusives.

I'm no captain of industry, but that seems pretty much right to me. I mean that plus a small contingency to address quality issues.

Edit: I suppose if I was Funpub and I knew that this thing wasn't going to be included (wrong decision #1) and I felt like charging extra, I wouldn't know exactly how many to make. What if everyone thought it was crap and leaving me with 1800 worthless green rubbers.

Can Fun Pub sneeze without people trying to hang them for it?

Ok on the toy arena site it say " This is for a Botcon 2012 Anttendee Exclusive that was limited to one per attendee." Then how the hell did they get so many to resell on there site for $35 ?

You got to be brain dead to pay 35$ for that . It should come with a mini bat to beat yourself in the head with if you pay that much for a tiny plastic bandana. It should have come with the headband .. What a rip off to sell it seperate ..

I'll Be selling some green garbage bag twist ties for 1$ each cause that's what that thing looks like lol..

I see nothing wrong with them making more of these since the original run didn't even match the amount of soundwaves being made.

These were resin casted by an employee or contractor of Funpub versus being made of plastic by a toy factory.
