No it's just a standalone toy.

 

Ultra Magnus actually looks pretty damn good. I have never been one of the "why is Magnus always an Optimus Repaint/tool" but I think I will leave my WFC Optimus in botmode to display next to this so they are a little different.

 

Hahahahaha that Ultra Magnus works 100000x better for the mold compared to Prime. I'm thinking of just keeping my WFC Prime and skipping on WoC Prime for Magnus instead.

Sideswipe is like a reshell of Jazz or something. I hate what they did with the bot modes though. Something is just really off...and that gun is stupid huge....I might pick Swipe up for the gun.

Shockwave is good. We knew that. But that Fireflight retool. That actually really works well.

Kickback looks pretty great here. The colors feel a little odd but that altmode looks loads better. I think I'll be picking him up as my cybetronian ninjacon.

Screamer looks amazing and I hate his design. Not sure what to think of the weapon.

 

I will own them all.

...except Bruticus because dem colors just ain't doing it for me.

These pics look quite nice. Shockwave will be my Classics Shockwave. While the Energon Shockblast is nice and all the poseability of FOC Shockwave just seals the deal. And FOC Magnus looks incredible. He will be my Classics Magnus for sure since I had to sell my Magnus and City Commander Armor.

Because of how nice these FOC figures are looking I am very tempted to start a Cybertronian mode Classics collection. But with only 5 figures having been released for WFC I don't know if I really need to bother with any back collecting of those same 5 figures. With Prime & Soundwave being redone do I need to even bother getting WFC Megs, BB or CJ? That is the question.

Fireflight: like the bot mode, alt mode looks a lil screwy now compared to Shockwave
Kickback: cool

 

Ultra Magnus is definitely better than I was expecting. The mold seems to work much better as him than it does Optimus. I might get him to be my Classics UM.

Sideswipe certainly looks cool. Doubt I'll get him, since I'm happy with my Universe Sideswipe, but I wouldn't say no to a repaint of this mold...depending on who they repaint it into.

Fireflight is...not quite what I was expecting, but not exactly bad. The colors are...interesting. I definitely like the new head and chest molding. The new weapons are nice, but kind of disappointing. Definitely not what I was expecting/hoping for when I read he would have a sai. Not sure if I'll get him. Will wait to see what I think of the Shockwave mold, and some in-hand pictures to see what this repaint's colors will look like in-person. Could at least be good kitbash fodder.

Starscream looks great. Still not a fan of those guns, but other than that I like him. Most likely won't get him, but I wouldn't say no to a repaint.

Kickback still looks great. It's definitely nice to have a proper look at his alt-mode. If we get any other Insecticon figures, I'll be getting this guy. If not I still might, but having at least one other mold to go with this guy would be great.

Wow. Just wow.

Starscream, Fireflight, and Ultra Magnus are the clear winners there. Those molds are just plain amazing - I'm surprised Fireflight even got a chest retool (wasn't expecting that), and that mold fits Magnus like a glove.

Kickback is solid too, though not winning me over quite as much. And though Sideswipe's BFG seems out of place in altmode, once you remember this is the same guy who wore ammo belts in G2, it's COMPLETELY in place.

You know, we should probably thank the TFA crew for marking a return to Magnus NOT being a white Optimus repaint.

 

Some very impressive tooling differences on the remolds here. Anyone think HasTak did the same thing with Shockwave/Fireflight chest and the Jazz/Sideswipe car parts that they've been doing with the heads in Generations, where they include repaint parts in the original tooling of the mold? If so, that's pretty dang awesome.

Definitely getting Shockwave, Starscream, Ultra Magnus, Sideswipe and Insecticon. They all look amazing.

Edit: Wait, am I seeing modular parts-forming weapons on these guys? The top of Fireflight's altmode seems to come off and rearrange to form part of his sword, and the clear part of Kickback's wings seem to have clips they detach from so they can become the side fins of his gun. That's some clever design work, and a nice evolution of the M-clip feature.
