Exactly! Thank you! A large portion of the fandom has the knee-jerk reaction of when they see a macguffin they automatically deem the episode filler, no matter how big the macguffin factors in. Most of the time the macguffin factors in to some very good character or plot development, or if theyre not, they get introduced then they get moved to the B-plot as the rest of the stuff happens, like Operation Bumblebee or the immobilizer. Megatron has even stated at one point that he didnt care about what they were looking for in light of bigger things. In my eyes, at least, Prime has proved that they can take cookie-cutter macguffin plots and turn them into truly interesting stories
