Boy are the peeps really falling all over themselfs to get MP-10 when it comes out. I guess I am the only one that isnt and its because of the reasons I posted already. I am in the process of getting a custom trailer with roller for my MP-01 which is bad ass in every sense and the best part is I am paying little or nothing for it! Funny thing about all this is is how everyone says MP-10 is the most accurate Prime ever made, really? Study the cartoon version and you will see it isnt and it sure dont come close to the version of Prime as seen in the comics.

 

If Hasbro did things out of fear of people bitching, we would either have everything, or nothing at all from them.

I think that they tested the waters with movie optimus figures and saw an optimus with trailer does indeed sell at high prices. Since MPs sell, then this will sell as well.

Also, they may be testing the US Market for the MP Ultra Magnus release.

 

That's in the Takara version as well - part of the way he transforms. The stacks collapse slightly for truck mode and the curved bits pop out of the bottom.

Torn on the stateside release. Forgot about the panel and bought MP-10 at Botcon literally two hours before the announcement was made. Absolutely love it in every way except for the eye color which is fixed in the US version plus I like the way the lighter blue looks on him even if it is less accurate. It is already one of my favorite figs I own (which includes MP-01) and is an absolute steal at $100 here if that's what the price ends up at.

Can't help but feel like this one is going to need to do VERY well at retail if we are to have any hope of getting the rumored Ultra Magnus w/trailer/armor stateside at a decent price. That may tip the scale for me buying OP again even though I am very satisfied with that Takara version.

Perhaps he can have a solo release later without the trailer (recoloured or not) ?

May be as a Hasbro Asia or show exclusiveor as a Costco Exclusive around Xmas time.

He might be nice done in metallic red paint for example (like the DVD edition Robotmaster) then he might only be $69.99 or less.

Perhaps they could even chuck in some thing with him like The Scoutclass Rumble & Frenzy or a couple of FOC legends.

 

I gotta agree, MP-01 is better proportioned and more screen accurate. I was never even tempted by MP-10 at the price they are asking. But I think a lot of folks will feel as I do, that an affordable domestic version is worth a punt. MP-10 may not look as accurate or be as imposing as MP-01, but it does win out with a better alt mode (probably how I will display him, keeping original MPOP and Faith Leader in bot modes).

It's not as if I don't already have multiple interpretations of G1 Prime anyway!   So I consider this another to add to the collection, rather than a straight replacement for MP-01.

 

MP-10 looks like an upscaled THS-02 to me.

tbh I like what I see though I hope I get everything I see in the packaging. Hasbro has been doing well in providing the better release of hot rod (cept the dark grey face ugh) I can easily see something may be missing just like grimlock missing all his accesories I mean I know its cost effective to do that but at the price I am paying it just doesnt seem like its enough. Maybe its just me being spoiled from being used to extra accesories and better paint but hey bump it an extra 5 bucks and make the trailer silver insted of just the boring light grey.

All they did was cut the waiter tray gear and swap in the crown instead.

Heck - Rodimus didn't have his trailer, but he came with an extra Matrix.

Now if they do this then by all means count me in! I would have no complaint at all if they do release MP Ultra Magnus in the same scale as "little shorty" as I call him MP-10. My Masterpeice 01 Optimus Prime needs a second in command and what better figure then to compliment him would be Ultra Magnus.

 

I really love the way this is displayed. Will be purchasing to keep MISB. Already have MP-10.
