Correct me if Im wrong but hasn't the TFP toy line, FE, RID, AM ALL been new molds? I mean not using ANY molds of previous TF toy lines? If so, why would they start and use an OLD Unicron mold? They didnt use TF Animated Megatron, or Classics Megatron for TFP toy line Megatron did they?

It just makes sense to me that Takara and Hasbro, no matter how money making oriented they are, would use a completly brand new mold for unicron as they did with each and every other character in the series. Again I dont mean a repaint from the same line eg, hot shot and bumblebee.

A very interesting collection of slightly contradictory information.   If Jazz342 is right then by extensions Darkness Megatron should be Leader Class also, which is encouraging for anyone who wants at least the two TF: Prime faction leaders in that size category. At that size, the designers might even get away with Optimus Prime's retractable weapons to some degree.. Though as I've said before, restricting electronic gimmicks to the weapoms as per the Weaponizers might free up room for some upslacled Human Alliance action in the Transformers: Prime toyline(s).

Naturally that's all conjecture. Any comments or questions I could have raised over Unicron, specifically weighing anything completely new against a potentially daft altmode, have already been raised ably. For my money, a little more news on Jet Vehicon and Ironhide will do for now.  

 

Jet Vehicons make me happy. Hopefully they'll be USA released as well.

 

Gaia Unicron? He can transform into Earth. But make Stone Unicron will be really cheap.

 

it'll prob be a redo or repaint of the Armada/Energon Unicron! coz the TF Prime one, never transformed! + i'm having a hard time figuring out, what that would transform into!

 

Skeptical they'd do that; it doesn't fit the show style plus he would need a complete retool for accuracy.

I imagine he'll be some kind of shellformer, myself.

HELL YES! Probably will get these as the US Weaponizer Megs and Unicron would have something less likeable than a arms micron I'm guessing.

 

If this turns out to be an interpretation of the Unicron rock golems, there'll probably be demand for one in just about every size class.  

 

Prime is just a freaking motherload of army builders. Army Build vehicons, army build jet vehicons, army build Unicron manifestations, army build insecticons.

I hope the jet is as amazing as the RID deluxe base Vehicons. Thinking at least two of each...

 

Well, I imagine we'll get a look at these at BotCon.

 

What I'm taking from this is 'Weaponizer' Megatron and Unicron, which is just fine by me.

 

I heard a few days ago of a listing for a Voyager Megatron toy - is the Dark Megatron just that ? or is it somehting else I wonder.

Even if it turns out these are just over priced Voyagers - I'd still like a companion Megatron Weaponizer for Optimus to stand with.

And that scale seems quite suitable for the Smaller Unicron rock avatars. Voyager scale might be to small - unless you use them with Cyberverse toys only.

It's possible that it's 5000 for one of several reasons ;

1) It's got a posh box
2) It's got more paint and less stickers
3) It's a limited toy and they are making less of them
4) It is actually bigger (I'm no inclinded to thinkk this is the case though).

Perhaps our friends in china will solve the mystery of the equivillent hasbro toy sometime soon along with the aerial Vehicon question.

Oh and is that a Deluxe Ironhide I spy - I hope that isn't a Japan exclusive and the west just gets Kup as a deluxe.

Besides Botcon is quite soon too.

If Unicron is done as a Weaponizer he might not Transform at all he might just have weapon arms and be a big figure - remember Energon Alpha Quintesson didn't Transform either she/he just had gimics.

 

Wonder if Unicron will be able to interact with Cyberverse figures. Maybe it transforms into a volcano playset?.

 

I'm pretty sure we already saw that the Weaponizer class was supposed to be cheaper than the old leader class price point too. I believe they're going to be 29.99 in the US.

 

Sure hope that the Darkness Megatron is of Voyager class
