As updates go, not bad at all. For my old-skool money you'll never beat the originals, accurate to real dinosaurs or not, but as a modern take on a classic character, pretty cool.

Be interesting to see this as a toy - G1 Sludge robot mode was easily the most well proportioned and flexible of the original toys, frankly they could just add ball joints to that figure and it'd be a winner now.

Uh.... he's a Cybertronian... not a herbivore... It is easily explained, because nothing about Sludge is anatomically accurate according to modern paleontological thought.

Not a lot of processing goes on up there...

Not so much that they went with Apatosaurus, but they went with a design that has been rejected since the late 70's. The head and neck stick straight out from the body, and is counterbalanced by the outstretched tail. The feet also only have one "toe" ending in a powerful spike, the rest of the toes are padded into a "stump" ... oh well... Humanoid-Robot mode looks great.

Without a rationale to support it, your use of the word "lame" is lame. :)

    I know, right? I always wanted a Sludge. It's still the one I don't own. :(

You mean the bottom LEFT? Yeah, you're right... dammit, these FOC designs just dangle the carrot for us geewunners, don't they? Where are our Insecticon toys??

Or for that matter... ALL the characters from the first game?

Yeah, we've been seeing "artwork" all over the place.

But guess any real reveals will be saved for Botcon to tease us about.

That's odd. The dinosaur Sludge was based on does not exist...

Now if this was just enough to bend some arms at Hasbro so we could get him toy form. It's really cool that the game is getting all five Dinobots back together but the greedy part of me wants a shot at last to get all five in the same toy style.

    It's really not complicated. :p

Simply saying something is "lame" supplies no grounds or frame-of-reference, qualitatively or aesthetically. In other words, if you're going to say that something (that so clearly rules) is "lame", then you should actually include some explanation or justification. Otherwise it adds nothing to the discourse and seems like you're just being negative for the snark value.

Another great design from High Moon.. I love the style of detailing they're using on these new Dinobots. Also, someone mentioned a Zoids resemblance with the FOC Dinobots and I agree with that, but I think its a positive. I bet Sludge is quite a bit bigger than the other Dinobots in-game too.

Sludge looks awesome! I'm looking forward to stomping around as a freaking sauropod!
