Pre-ordered AM Bulkhead awhile back as I'm interested in his minicon and don't really mind having to paint him up. I was initially going to skip this Starscream but he does look better than I thought he would.. tempted.

The Bulkhead looks a lot better than he has in other pics. Starscream is looking stellar but so does his FE deluxe and the deluxe fits so much better in scale with the rest.

Either way, both are bought on sight and I love TF: Prime.

I'm looking forward to getting that Starscream, even though I already have an FE one.

    I just wish it didn't have 'glowing null-rays'...batteries=bulky. :(

Check the AM Optimus feedback thread.

Like the deluxes, there is some paint on him but a lot of the details and highlights are done with stickers. And the clear plastic is there on him as well.

Cripes. I just wish they'd standardize these names. (ie. basic, deluxe, voyager) I can't keep all their flash-in-the-pan techno-gadget-name-of-the-day titles straight. Powerizers.... seriously? Maybe I'll pick them up after I snag the Zap-o-mators, and Shazam-o-tizers.

Like you guys, I hate to see kids duped into buying toys because it has some awkward tumor of an accessory that's half the size of the toy. I'd rather have an awesome, slightly larger, posable toy with great paint apps... and maybe a pistol or sword accessory. Worst cases are where the gadget ruins an entire arm. I hate that.

It still says "Deluxe" and "Voyager" on the box though. And for that matter, I don't think the kids are being duped given DOTM had a similar gimmick. Nothing is hidden in the box after all.

not, that's the one thing i don't like about this Starscream... i just don't like it, and i'm worried that the clear plastic might break down the road...

This. I don't get why people still call them Revealers and Powerizers...

On topic: Bulkhead looks better here than the first pix to surface that's for sure.

I don't see how kids are getting "duped" - kids love glow and light up crap. They just do.

Besides if a kid thinks it's cool grabs one and then changes his mind he won't grab another and it's that "another" that Hasbro care about. Heck, if kids thought Mech Tech sucked we wouldn't be getting Mech Tech ver.2.

My kids love that light up blob that comes with Optimus, I'm teh one who hates it.

yeah, I'm not implying Hasbro is being dishonest with children. I know the package is clearly displayed. It's marketing....

Kids buy it because it has a giant attack claw arm spring loaded light up disproportional Mech-tech weapon. But they're not smart enough to understand it's a marketing ploy... that the figure and its budget suffers because of that accessory. They get a suckier figure because they're susceptible to buying silly flashy bell-and-whistle accessories.

Come on kids! Pay more attention.

Yeah, fans were already on the fence about mechtech... now they're larger, affect the quality of the figures directly (translucent forearms), look even less like weapons, and don't lock.

... no one blames you for disliking this gimmick.

I gotta say, Bulkhead doesn't look as shitty as Toyfair made him look. I'll be getting Starscream for sure. Bulkhead i'll need to see a review first, but he doesn't look at all bad. And this is coming from someone who owns a FE.
