With now just over two weeks to go until Botcon officially opens, and today's reveal of Derrick J Wyatt attending Botcon 2012, now seemed as good a time as any to kick off a (long overdue) series of gallery updates. Here for you today are a quintet of characters you might have heard of - The Stunticons, Transformers Animated style! This set was the Botcon 2011 boxed set, and we are proud to finally be able to share these galleries with you. This is the my first and only (so far) Botcon set and it's absolutey one of my favorite thing in my collection!
Botcon 2011, as a whole, is my favorite Botcon boxed set (plus Toxitron!). All future sets should use this as the standard... All of the figures in the box are from one "series". All the figures in the box are a "team". You don't need to purchase anything extra to complete the "set", but the fiction gives you incentive to purchase the add-ons if you're so inclined. But the boxed set is still a complete set.
I too am starting to have doubts Menace will materialize (although they did say Q4 2012) But if nothing else the announcment got me to get off my duff and got me to buy these 5, and I will NEVER hold that against G1uppers.
Yeah, I'd LOVE to get a sudden update from G1uppers on this project... Even if they post saying that it's not going to happen.. It'd be nice to see SOMETHING... So we can either get excited or move on.
Couldnt make it to Botcon, but bought the non attendee set. These guys were expensive, but im glad i have them. Also bought Toxitron/Sideswipe and AUtotroopers from someone locally that just happend to go to botcon and was selling. I guess it worked out overall. I was afraid they were gonna have additional animated exclusives this year at Botcon, but they dont so whatever. IMO this years set is lame.
Those are my first exclusive toys (or second... didn't remember if TFA Cheetor arrived before). I am still impressed how some paint apps can change a figure. The favorites of this set to me are Drag Strip and Dead End, and both are straight repaints. Look at the galleries how those toys are different of the base figure (specially Drag Strip). Congratulations for those great galleries!
