Since Diaclone and Microman were completely different lines, I have to wonder how differently things might have gone if the line up had been changed?

Those of us old enough remember Decepticons = War machines, and Autobots = Vehicles. With Perceptor and Soundwave being odd men out.

What if it had been all Diaclone vs. Micromen?

Heck what if the Starscream/TC/SW mold was only used once,,, and was an Autobot?

What if the Autobots were lead by a Microscope?

What if all the Decepticons were cars?

    The mind, it boggles.

I found it very nice how Yoke gave Bob Budiansky a shout-out and talked about their meeting at BotCon. Many years ago I made a thread named "The many creators of the Transformers". Here we have one of them acknowledging the contribution of another one, reflecting perfectly how Transformers is neither a purely "Japanese" thing nor a purely "American" thing... but a combination of both.

I think it should be a requirement of all Transformers fans to read these articles. Amazing and eye-opening stuff, as always. Thanks again for your tireless efforts, Syd (and Aernaroth, Shin Densetsu & Pravus Prime for the assist). It certainly does not go unappreciated!

Yoke, Oono, Aramaki, Kawamori, Studio Nue... so many amazing folks are responsible for these timeless designs and concepts that literally "transformed" science fiction and action figures for generations. It's always a treat to read the words of these masters and innovators.

Always a pleasure to read up on the actual history of the franchise. Great work and thanks to those that gave us this.
