Ginza is a district in Tokyo, these are the Primes that are representing districts around Japan to promote the new AM line and transformers in general.

You can find pictures of these primes in designated electronics stores that sell TF on a giant matrix with a screen in the middle that shows a video of the history of transformers in Japan.

If you can remember what the G1 matrix looks like, the holes where optimus or rodimus puts there fingers in to open the matrix are pictures of that particular district's prime and pictures of the evolution of Optimus Prime from G1 to TFP.

    In Japan
Every district got their own Prime.
Every city got their own Prime.
Every prefecture got the own Prime.
    Every...

TakaraTomy sure knows how to please their own fans by making some exclusive Primes for their locals, and I like that idea. :)

Tamara Tomy has set up kiosks in certain Japanese cities that promote the Micron Arms line.

Part of these Kiosks each feature an image of an exclusive new Prime character based on an existing Legends toy and themed to that specific city.

-ZacWilliam, there have been at least 7 or 8 iirc so far.

yeah, its kinda pretty cool, and rather unique way to promote the series in a way. which makes me wonder if we might think up some sort of unofficial "international cybertron satellite prime project" dealie.

It's a neat idea. And something that only Tak/To could pull off.

Thanks for the replies, that is an awesome concept!

Shame it wouldn't work in UK, although I think there would be tonnes of mileage in Geordie Prime and Scousertron :lol

Been watching a lot of BBC boxsets recently and kinda want a "Midsomer Prime" redeco of Legends Prowl and a "Cardiff Prime" to travel through time...

-ZacWilliam, yes, I know Midsomer is fictional. It'd still be cool. ;)

So the Arms Micron figures aren't amazing, but TakaraTomy are sure putting a hell of an effort into their marketing. They've really stepped up their approach to Transformers, rather than going "hey, here's some Hasbro toys we made all shiny for collectors GO BUY THEM THEY COST A LOT WE WANT YOUR MONIES". Which is not to say that they never have marketed Transformers, but what I'm saying is that they seem to be going all-out for Prime and Arms Micron, which makes me happy. Probably because I secretly wish for Transformers to take over as the #1 mech franchise in Japan (although they aren't really mechs, but you know, giant robots.... you get the idea). Not that Transformers will ever manage to take down Gundam or Macross but..... I can dream.
