Damn. And I was just going to list my FE Cliffjumper and Vehicon on eBay. I'm sure my Vehicon won't get me as much with the release of these picks.

And I totally forgot its April Fools Day! Lol!! Pink! Pink everywhere.

Two things come to mind:

*Unless you have the FE Vehicon figure, it is really hard to make
a qualified statement of exactly which one is superior. I like the clean
back on the new one and I like it's gun better. But the new version's
arms are a bit under-sized for my tastes.

*When the legs are correctly transformed on the FE version,
they are model accurate. Unfortunately the instructions forget
the two steps needed to do this. The newer RID version's legs
are very much off from the animation model.
QFT.

Doesn't help that the comparison pictures have the FE Vehicon posed with his legs strangely bent while the RiD's are straight. FE Vehicon looks to be slightly taller when he's all straightened out but I can't say for sure. FE certainly does have more bulk to him, while RiD's arms are a bit spindly and strange looking (not to mention the kibble hanging off the sides of his lower legs; why people don't notice this is beyond me; selective perception, I guess).

The paint and plastic quality look to be better on the FE than the RiD. FE has glossy black, hard (re: sharp) quality plastic that's dark navy in coloration with metallic flake in it. My guess is RiD's plastic will be similar to RiD Soundwave's, very dull/flat matte and slightly bendy/flexible plastic that will probably lend a somewhat "light" and "cheap" feeling to it when in hand.

Neither is perfect, but I still like and want both in my collection. The folks bashing the FE version probably never had one in hand to make any serious judgment call. As the saying goes, "Someone armed with experience is never at the mercy of someone armed with just an opinion."

Pretty impressed by the lack of kibble, definitely picking it up once it's released over here.

RID version looks AWESOME. Hot tip - as soon as you see it in the store, BUY IT. I have the FE version, and (no salt, trust me, I love it).
Check out my sales!

Maybe he wont be as hard to find as everyone thinks. Remember how everyone thought soundwave would be impossible to find? I saw one at a walmart a few weeks ago. today, my toysrus had 3 soundwaves. I already have him, so I didn't get him, but still. 3 and he's only 1 per case too.
