Yes. What you said. So hard to read this forum these days with amount of loud, obnoxious children that populate every other post. I wonder who they feel they are impressing with their constant ranting? Just once I want to make it through an entire thread without them pouring their bile all over it. I think I need to go figure out if TFW2005 has a block/ignore setting. I already have a whole list to populate it with. Edit: Oh sweet relief. Just found it. This single thread alone has already become much more pleasant.
Eh, don't care for the ignore function myself. If you put half the fandom on ignore, and something new comes out that's debatable whether or not it's good, you'll only see those that agree with you. Given that narrow perspective, people would start to believe the majority feels the same way they do when it's quite possible they do not (kind of the way things happen in politics, but we won't pursue that with due respect to the board rules). Like this thread. It's close to half and half as far as people busting FP's balls and those that are trying to play nut cup. If you put all of those on the other side on ignore you can come out and say, "I haven't seen anyone who loves/hates the club". Which would be true to an extent, that you haven't seen opposing view points, because you ignored them. I'd advise using it sparingly. I also won't take those that slam the club for granted either. The thing I've noticed most over the years of Fun Publications is that the quickest way to get any kind of response from Pete or the Club is for somebody to attack it or degrade it. So while you may disagree with them, without their negativity regarding the club, I doubt you would see Pete in here posting replies at all. Again, I'm not attacking the club or Pete, I'm just posting an observation I have seen.
and thats a wonderfully balanced viewpoint and completly welcome. Heck as people may remember and even Pete I'm sure knows, I've had plenty to say bad about Botcon in the past. I've probably gone to over 100 cons and I will call Botcon 2008 the worst con I've ever been to. and I'll probably never recant that statement.... but it doesn't then follow that I feel every effort by the club is deserving of hate, that every action must be scrutinized to the point of ridicule and that every mistep is a result of mal-intent or gross negligence. But there are some that I do block because they essentially have 1 post, that is repeated and rephrased again and again across every thread they post in. and blocking them isn't trying to only hear one side, ibut rather fatigue from reading that same post time and again.
Point taken. I will most likely just use it wholesale until the Botcon fervor can die down and some that I would consider otherwise rational fans dial back on the foaming mouths. Then I will use it sparingly. I owe nothing to those that slam the club without fail because I personally have never had a question of Pete or anyone at Fun Pub that I have not had answered immediately and to my satisfaction when I e-mailed or called them. Do I think they are perfect? No. Not in the least. However, if I so violently disagreed with them as these people pretend they do, I would simply stop giving them my money. It really is as easy as that. Anyone that chooses to give them money chooses to do so. No one is holding a gun to these plastic-addicted kids' heads. Yes, there's definitely still some folks that will most likely stay on it because I can only read "Prime is Shrek-formersHURHURHUR, I know G1 better than you" etc. so many times in my life. I am not interested in only hearing those that agree with me, I am just tired of the broken records that have been amped up lately to an unbearable volume.
After seeing so many of these threads degrade into a general moan and groan about FP, I pray that any FP panels I attend with my son stay civil and don't goof up the experience for us. Been looking forward to this for sooo long the both of us.
Same goes for the people who whine about every post they don't like. Loud, obnoxious children indeed.
Yah man,for this Botcon 2012 Metalhawk,i feel that they might have use the wrong mold,i still prefer Botcon 2012 Metalhawk to be of Seekers mold.
The Seeker mold?...I don't think it would look right. I kind of like the Metalhawk were getting...I just want a close-up shot of his face.
dont worry, a third-party spare parts maker will eventually come up with a set to make things right! Maybe a new pretender and robot head, plus a toon accurate chest and shoulder-pads- not too mention new feet and knee pieces plus weapons like his sword!
you and me both. and my money's on the Dr. Wu team, which did fantastically on the PRID Wheeljack parts.
Has any 3rd party company ever made a set for a Botcon exclusive? I think Botcon exclusives are so under produced that it might not be financially feasible to make an upgrade set for one. Though I do hope I'm wrong as I would love an upgrade set for Metalhawk.
Nah, they just needed to package it with the Sky Shadow head. Botcon exclusives would be great if they had extra heads. Hell, they should do a set of Nightstick redecos for us to use with other toys. THAT would be a great set to pick up.
Shadow Scyther, it may have been a remold of a previous third party item, but it had a new face and weapon.
Maybe I have misread what you have posted, but it seems as if you want an entirely different figure. The only bits you left out of that list are arms and legs (and even got some bits of the legs). Why wait for arabs maker to make it right when you could wait for a third party mold to make it right? Better yet, you could buy a vintage one. In the end, that is what it sounds as if you want.
Like the poster above mentioned, they've made Shadow Scyther for SG Rodimus from Botcon 2008. Also, while it's not Botcon, they've also made the clear Protector Armor for the Tokyo Toy Show exclusive clear Rodimus and Shadow Commander for the SDCC Nemesis Prime. There's also the KO Commander Armor for SG Prime. Of course, the difference there is that the 3rd part add-ons were mostly minor tweaks to more mass released products. In any case, 3rd Party manufacturers can always try and offset the higher costs with higher prices, which a number of fans would still run to get if they feel it makes their toys look better.
