Toys R Us Japan has begun promoting Transformers Prime in full force. Here are some scans I took of the flier I picked up while there today.

Super Robot Life-forms: Transformers Prime television animation begins Saturday, April, 7th at 8am.

The Transformers’ newest series goes on sale March 31st.

Arms Microns are small Transfomers, which can transform into weapons. They strengthen the Transformers; moreover, when Arms Micron’s merge they become very powerful weapons.

Optimus Prime’s Arms Micron (AM-01) is a purple gun that looks a lot like Shockwave. Megatron comes with a pretty cool looking black and purple gorilla (Optimus Primal?).

The flier says to check out the monthly comic, Korokoro Comic, for more information about Arms Microns. Also, those who make a reservation for AM-01 Optimus prime by 3/30 will receive a bonus Arms Micron character named Autobot Firebolt; however, this piece is limited to 2,500 pieces so those of you that want one should inquire about it while making a reservation to insure that you do indeed get one.

Man, I want to see more of Terrorcon CJ. Between being the FE mold and the fact that he comes with a Targetmaster Ravage, he is so much want.

Great even if Japan's Prime releases lack paint just like ours, they're molded in way better colors. Japan gets darker tones on Optimus, and Bumblebee with darker plastic and more orangey yellow looks way better.

Killed Arms Micron sword, hope Ratchet's micron is available in capsule form in the future.

I don't recall the post I saw much earlier, but I thought I heard that there were going to be a lot of these released in gachapon coin machines for 200 yen a piece. From the sounds of it, we'll have access to the same ones available with figures (but are completely random) as well as some color variants and made even exclusives if they do it like Kamen Rider Fourze's switches which are pretty identical to the ones that come with figures, and parts.

As far as we've seen it's different figures not the same. Unless I missed something. Though it's possible that later on they may do this.

I may pick up the korokoro comic for my son--he's into these comics and he's really into transformers right now. March is right around the corner, so I'm sure more news will be popping up real soon. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if Takara Tomy markets these things like Bandai does the Astro Switches for Kamen Rider Fourze; these things sell out in hours! No joke! Stores cannot keep their Gachapon games full no matter how many they have set up outside their story, children and the not-so-adults:p  are snapping these things up like hotcakes.

I don't think Transformers is as popular as Kamen Rider (at the moment), but I have a feeling Transformers Prime is going change all that.

Yeah, seriously, the money that goes into making those weapons that light up and have a dozen screws all over plus the secondary weapon... couldn't that cash go into the microns? Seriously...

If I was a kid, I would totally buy whatever figure came with two figures in the package. A figure plus a minicon was always more of a draw for me then a figure and a weapon.

Yes, well three Arms Microns, actually. Optimus, Bumblebee and Rachtet's Arms Micron linked into one big weapon;)

From what I've heard, this is what retailers want Hasbro to add to their figures to appeal to kids; that figures need gimmicks for "play value".

Takara is not beholden to retail locations like Hasbro is, from what I gather, which is why they get stuff like this.

Yep, that's why we got MechTech for DotM over the quality figures of RotF like Leader Prime. Parents complained that the RotF figures were too complicated for their kids, and they didn't have enough replay value (I guess transforming and pretending to make them fight like we did as kids is too much now), so they needed more "wacky action". Hence, we got stuck with oversized MechTech weapons to go with smaller figures to even out the plastic usage.

Looks interesting but i'm not sure who i feel about mini-cons. THe mini-cons of the past had horrible alt modes which didn't resemble much if at all. Just look at the ones for Power Core Combiners. Their mini-con partners looked cruddy.

But i guess it makes us the hardcore TF fan have to choose or else shell out more.
