It's because he's considered one of the "chase" figures. All the chase molds are translucent. Hope we get a solid colored one as well eventually.

 

I was thinking the same thing, buy my OCD probably wouldnt allow me to only get one or two, and the paint apps (on the feet) on Optimus Prime in bot mode in the package kind of turned me off. I may still grab Optimus at some point, but I really don't need to start another line, as "cute" as they actually are.

 

When I bought mine it was only 12.99 and I used the $3 coupon so being 9.99 seemed worth it. Plus the stats are different on these ones.

i actually bought one of these bots the other day. optimus prime of coarse. i have to say even if they are a little high priced they are fun to throw at the wall.

 

Awesome! I love the botshots! I'm a sucker for mini transformers! I picked up barricade the other day and love it! Acid storm would be a sweet addition!!

I picked up a 3 pack today at TRU. It was on sale for $12.99. The singles were still $4.99. I only saw the Autobot 3 pack, which included Prowl, Bumblebee and Sentinel Prime.

 

Same. Just picked up both sets in Tigard Oregon from TRU.

The packaging numbers each character starting with BP001 for Bumblebee and Acid Storm is "Super Bot 006". I wish they had used the same numbering scheme as the single packs.

 

I would like bot stats of each for comparison if I want.
So far it seems like each bot will have at least one stat that overpowers the other in a tie breaker.

 

Definitely want the Acid Storm 3-pack for the Acid Storm. The Prowl one is a maybe.

 

Wow, so, they shortpacked even the botshots here?! I just picked up my set of Decepticons, and it appears to be a 3:1 packing rate, Bots being the 3.

 

Is the Bumblebee from the 3-pack any different from the singe pack?

 

the BBs are different

I picked up a battle pack and all the single packs (except for the super bot 001 - sentinal prime) and to answer your question BNY888 - the bumblebee's are different. Slight color change, tires different color and the hit points on the chest are different. Also the windshield is different. Kinda reminds me of Prime/RID bumblebee vs the NYCC prime bumblebee (orange vs yellow) I grabbed these guys at TRU in Sacramento.

**added** also Prowl is repainted to become Barricade, and of course Prime is painted black for Nemesis Prime, Starscream mold for Acid Storm
